21st Century 1/48 scale P-40N Warhawk

Post by P39time » Mon Nov 03, 2008 11:51 am

What do you guys think of the 21st Century 1/48th scale P-40N model. I saw a few at Walmart, and I am trying to decide if it is a good model to get. Thanks.

Nice model. Worth having if you collect 1:48. They just need pilot figures with them.

It is nice but I really like the P-40E Aleutian Tigers model.

But then even their 1/32 tanks don't have figures anymore.

That is very true. The big difference is that I can easily buy 1:32 or 1:35 figures. Pilot figures for 1:48 are almost nonexistant. Many metal diecast manufacturers also omit pilot figures from their planes.

It would be a good niche to fill if someone was in the casting business. These are the French ones I found...

I picked up the Aleutian Tigers P-40 awhile back, and it is very nice for 1/48. For 10 bucks, you really can't go wrong. As far as I'm concerned there's nothing wrong with it. :)

Since I don't know what to do with my 1/48 planes and tanks they are all stuffed away MIB in the garage. I am waiting for the bombers from 21C until I pull them out.

They can provide air cover for Corgi 1/50 armor.

I've seen these at Walmart along with the P-51's. I just haven't decided to go one more scale down because 1:18 is dissapearing, and now 1:32 is getting thin.

It seems that 1:48 is the most prolific scale of all, with all kinds of models, diecast, etc. out there.
Though of course not many figures now I'm realizing after reading this thread.

Lots of P-40 models here. I wonder if we might start seeing larger planes in 1/48th scale.
