BBI, FOV & 21C Figure Height

Sorry for the very basic question but are these ranges a similar height? I ask because the 21c tank crew I got with my Panzer are half a head taller than my Indy Jones figures. I have a load of 21c and fovs on order and have a worry they will be mismatched slightly.

The first armor figures were short . The Tiger tank crew member for one. The pilots were also smaller. But this is not a big deal. In life we all are different heights so this look true to scale. I am 6' 1" Boy Spike is 6' 2" and Mama Spike is 5' 5". I have two uncles on my mother's side who are 6' 4" and 5' 6''.

Yeah, well ‘slightly mismatched’ might be an understatement when it comes down to 21C's passion for accuracy.

Actually, they’re more like 1:16 overall, with the odd midget thrown into the mix for good measure. Take the 21C Kubel driver, he is so small you can’t even make him pass off as a Hitlerjugend. It reminds me of that Gunter Grass character in The Tin Drum who refuses to grow up.

actually the kubel driver makes a great hitler youth. I used the kubel driver's body with a young anakin skywalker head to make a 10 year old hitler youth defender of berlin.

GiJoe and Indiana Jones are advertised as 3 3/4 inch figures while 21st Century is 1/18 or 4 inch. As stated above people come in many sizes so I don't worry about the variation that much. I do wish though that 21st had made their Japanese figures a little smaller .

Well my 21st DAK, Japanese and US marines arrived, along with my WW2 forces of valour all turned up last night. Not got around to opening the pacific troops yet. Really impressed by the others. My Hasbro Indy DAK look very poor next to the 21st ones. I love the outfit accesories as I bought x2 of each figure but they all look unique with coats on and off. Fob look more detailed but almost too clean. 21st look rough and ready! I need to sort some display area out to really appreciate them all, especialy as my 2 bbi abrams also turned. Those things are huge! Looks like my 1:72 aircraft shelf will need to be cleared

First rule of army building is called ‘The Headswap’. Too bad the heads of some of the Axis and Allied troops are duplicates. But at least by doing ‘The Headswap’ you can add some variety to your mass-produced troops.

The USMC figures are one of the best 21st has produced, IMO (including the weapons). The ones with the green fatigues have some of the best paint applications I’ve seen to date as far as 21st goes.

The original series vehicles all had "diminutive" drivers to fit the unaltered cockpits and hatches and whatnot. So the jeep driver, the Kubelwaggen driver, the P51, and ME109 drivers, and the Sherman/Panther drivers were all tiny figures compared to the basic carded guys.

The Tiger Tank did NOT have a tiny driver. He was a full sized figure, as the Tiger was a series 2 vehicle released around the same time as the Paratroopers and Falschimjagers were.

Nothing past wave 1 of XD stuff had tiny pack-in figures. Only the original run had those. Vietnam stuff technically was Wave 2 (before the Tiger and Paras), and their vehicles all had full size dudes in them.

Is that even possible? Most of those guys couldn't even tell you what happened last week. 1945? No way! Not just to rag on rappers, the knowledge of history amongst the general public is appalling. I know lots of people that couldn't even tell you what side the USSR was on in WW2. I remember when I was a kid I saw a reproduction WW2 German helmet in a magazine. I asked my father if I could order it. He responded by asking why I would want to order that "communist" crap. A quick history lesson followed. I still didn't get the helmet. As far as he was concerned Communists and Nazis were the same thing.

Well I was playing that medal of honour game a few years ago with some friends. We were doing the Omaha Beach level. One of the guys didn't know anything about D Day. He was asking which war the game was set in. I don't think it's covered too well in school history
