I think Matotoys does ship to the UK, I'm pretty sure I've heard others mentioning it.
You could try Torro, they're the ones that make the metal wheels and tracks that come with upgraded version of a lot of these tanks, and they are on your side of the pond.

I didn't see the latest version on their site, just try emailing them.

You can also try Tankzone, same price.

Just a little FYI. Tankzone has one of the most spottiest customer service in all of 1/16th RC tank world. Although UK buyers seemed to get better service than the international buyers.

If all else fails, just get the original version and repaint it to your heart's content. :D

I've purchased from Tankzone 5 times and never had one problem and my orders arrived very quickly. It was however from their ebay store so I don't know if that makes a difference.

and your KT looks great, looks like you lightly oversprayed it with brown to subdue the camo?

Do you spray flat and use satin varnishes? or do you add a bit of gloss to your bases and then dullcote later?

Yeah, I've ordered from Tankzone in the past too with no problems. But from all the complaints I've heard about them recently, (very late shipment, not answering emails, etc etc), I'm a bit hesitant to order from them again. :(

Thanks! Yeah, I over sprayed my KT with a light coat of buff, dark yellow, and flat brown to show a little weathering effect.

All my paints are flat, but when I did an oil wash during the weathering process, it made the whole tank semi-glossy. So I simply coated the whole tank with dullcote once I'm all done with the weathering process.

GOOGLYDOOGLY:

How would you rate the Matotoys King Tiger in terms of detail/accuracy to the King Tigers from FOV and Dragon?

I don't think it fair to compare the two when one die-cast & cost $699.00 & the other plastic & cost $100.00

How about letting us see a few pics...?? I would be interested to see how the paintjob on yours compares to the first version.

I was going to get one of these from a guy that Ostketten put me in touch with. Sadly I needed the money for something else and had to pass. Im glad I did , because last Saturday I picked up the FOV pieper King tiger from a small model shop in Liverpool city centre for £200 . I almost got knocked over running to a atm to draw the cash out . I've yet to tell the wife  but when she eventually finds the wooden box it came in and if she dares to comment , I shall remind her that she has more shoes than Imelda Marcos . It may sound shallow , but having one of these and Liverpool FC being at the top of the premier leauge...I'm having a good couple of weeks . :D
