OK I am not sure if I can do this but I will try. Aferguson I already started this but I am sure that you can move it to the custom board.
I am making a 1/18 wirblewind turret for retail. Unpainted or maybe the yellow w/ green stripes.
Expect a week turn over. Hopefully not more than 2 weeks.

sounds like a sweetheart of a deal, pH! I wish i had those two items to send you but i don't.
But i'm peaking over the thought of a wirbelwind turret! I've had a Panzer IV chassis set aside for a couple of years for a wirbelwind....so i can't wait. I'll be first in line to get one.

I am also thinking of doing the Ostwind. That is the symmetrical armored ring around the 3.7 cm flak gun. The wirbelwind has the quad 20 mm 38s surrounded by the squashed coffin like armored ring.
Wirbelwind

Ostwind . I have a head start on this one. This was the same cannon used on the Stuka tankbuster.

I might have the Tamiya turret left over from a old build of a Bergepanzer IV...I'll need to check..I built the gun as a ground mount I remember and the hull was used..but I don't think I sold the turret parts just putting them in the holy Box O' spare stuff.
If I can find it today or Tomorrow eves, I PM/Email and send it out.

My favorite vehicle on the "Essen" map for Battlefield 1942 was the Wirbel. I would jump in and hide it in the trees and wait for the Allies to start sending in their drop planes and start shooting them out of the sky just as the other players started 'chuting out.

Hey, I'd love to buy a custom turret
I could maybe do the quad flaks myself if I get the time
21st C maybe or could make the whirbl, but you wouldn't see it for say 5 years if they started on it today
I don't know why they have such a problem with getting models out of production and out to stores. I guess it's a money thing. It'd work better if they PAY their bills for manufacturing rather than stick it in their pockets
I know this, we've got an HOA here where I live that loves to steal the money, then tell us they don't have any money to fix up this dumpy community I live in

This may be a deal breaker. But I was thinking in the $125 to $150 range.I think that this is kind of cheap. Concidering it was a little tricky to make and will be even harder to cast. Maybe that is nobody has done it yet.Panzer_M wrote:anyone got a 1/18 panzer IV hull sitting around for sale?
Ph, what the estimated cost of a WW turm kit? will it be pre-assembled or parts?
The Lion Roar photo etch detail kit sell for $70 and you have to assemble it ! Plus it is almost half the size in 1/35. Mine will be built up. The only thing is if I am going to make the ring in 2 pieces or one. If I make it in one piece it will be real hard to get the crew in and out . Maybe impossible unless you take there legs off. If I do make it in 2 pieces that will mess up the horizontal bead weld of the turret. If I make it it 2 pieces I would make the top half come off kind of like a box top.

for the scale and what it is the price is fair, but I could see it higher for the kit.
I like it alot, but I am swamped in little armour, I don't know where I'd put a 1/18 tank at the moment.
Do you plan on seperate 2cm Flakvierling 38 ground mounts? Those would also sell well to the 1/18 guys I bet.

Getting close guys almost ready to take pre orders.
The seat this came out nice but it wont take a good pic.

Guns

Foot rest

tracking crank handels and hub

Crew getting a work out

Main gun support

Gun mock up

Almost everything is done except the gun shocks seat support and small optical arm.
2 or 3 days and this will be done . Then molding and casting.
BTW there are over 230 pieces of plastic, copper and brass so far in the constructon of this project.

You know what would be even cooler.....How about the use of steel...I can get enough for you for free......I think it would cool if the armor sides where made out of metal.

Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Let me hear your guns!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: My what?
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Your guns! Ack, ack, ack, ack, ack!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: [fires his airplane's guns] AHHHH!
