Anyone buying this? 1/16 Sherman
The FoV 1/16 Sherman pics looks nice, but the tank's pretty pricy. Anyone buying this?
yup its big and expensive...but been saving for months...got one on order and they should show up this week.
Too cool to pass up, and it is the first 1/16 FOV with a die cast hull and turret.
And if you need to justify the investment, FOV 1/16 do appreciate in value
(first Allied tank in the series and only 750 released to North America)

The sign of a great model is that one’s eye is not drawn to any one feature, yet one can study it for hours and continually find something new.

well if you pass on this M4, the next one very well may be a Firefly or Easy8...
Just like the two Tiger 1 Wittmann versions released (222 & 007) FOV may re-tool the M4 as opposed to just a re-paint.

That is a good price too...
Its just I have purchased from Dave and Sally Aiken in the past and they are great folks to do business with.
Looking forward to setting the M4 up next to my 1/16 Combat Engineer Bulldozer...D-Day plus 2

The thing is, these tanks run out pretty darn quickly. Both King Tigers, and both Tiger I's, were gone in a relatively short while; and they look that much better after they're retired. I think that if you want one, you should buy it now regardless of cost. On another note, I read an article saying that FoV will make an M1A1. Apparently this was written when the Tiger I was first selling, so I didn't really consider it. But the piece also meantioned the Sherman, and since this is selling I'll say there's a good chance the Abrams would come later. Ladened, weathered M1...now wouldn't that be a site!

Is there any way we could get this at wholesale cost….let me explain we all chip in money to buy a whole sale lot, First we need some one with a retail license then have them place an order…..we all need to pitch in…this person need to be trust worthy and an upstanding member of this forum.
I know it might be late for this release but maybe we can set it up for the second release.
But can one person answers this; What do they run at whole sale cost and how many do you have to order?

You can still buy the first Tiger for only £150.00 on ebay , so I can't see the Sherman doing any betterDer Kommandant wrote:The thing is, these tanks run out pretty darn quickly. As we all know anything German sell well
The last Tiger II first edition I saw on ebay went for $650-700 USD or so but it's the 008 Pieper that tops that. A friend of mine sold his last one for a $1000 plus shipping to Europe. You won't see the Wooden crate packaging anymore. Those were $250 wholesale, the Sherman is $275. My friend still has a few 007 Wittmann's kicking around but won't be ordering any Shermans so I have no choice but to order for $430 shipped up to Canada out of the USA. I could have it shipped up to WA state and take hour and a half round trip (save a few bucks) to pick it up but I don't want to deal with the border and the bullshit!
When I ordered my first edition Tiger II from Motorpool way back they quoted me $400 including shipping. The item was drop shipped from CA to NY (motorpool) and then they had to pay to have it shipped from NY back to the West Coast of Canada. I don't think they were too pleased.

Hi Zartan,
Nah, we were okay with that. Its just that shipping costs have now gotten out of hand, particularly outside the US. Frankly, the US Postal Service charges the same to any point in Canada from any point in the US, which really doesnt make much sense from a shipper's standpoint, seeing as how they're sticklers for points across the US.
That said, it now costs approximately $70 US to ship a 35 pound parcel to Canada from the US, assuming that's what the Sherman weighs including the packing material. I dont even want to think about what UPS would charge for a comparable parcel.
As to appreciation, its anyone's guess how much the Sherman will be worth in a few years. Too many factors to consider and the economy can put a damper on its value in the short term.

Hi Mitch,
Well, I'll tell you this much. The War Toyz price is excellent, considering the wholesale cost of this item. Thus far, the only vehicle in the series I was disappointed in seeing was the first King Tiger. The paint scheme seemed a tad off and the hooks holding the extra tracks were a bit brittle. Since then, they've done a great job retooling the series, and I dont recall a single complaint. Wish they would go back to modeling the interior of the vehicle so you can ogle the crew basket, but I guess we cant have everything...
