Some Good News in XD

Post by pickelhaube » Wed Aug 27, 2008 7:19 am

Well maybe not really. I think all this talk about custom XD is a good thing. Alright I know they are pricey but planes are being made. Some of our wishes and desires are coming to fruitation.
The A-10 has been wanted for years. BBI is said to have one waiting to be put to market. This may or may not happen. This is not a secret. It has been arround for a few years.
If there is a demand subjects can be made. Hopefully gone are the days of whining about I wish they would make this plane or tank. Now anything is possible . Things can be made . Albiet pricey.

Maybe it is the same thing, but I do think it is better to complain about price . Rather than complain about not having any new XD.

PICKELHAUBE:

Do you have any more detailed nfo on the BBI A-10?.....I'm getting ready to buy a Hobby Master diecast 1/72 A-10, but if BBI is going to release an A-10, I'll gladly wait for it.

Of what I have heard it has been out for a couple of years. This MAY be a rumor. That is why the other guys are not stepping up to make it. From what I have heard they are waiting for a big retailer to pick it up. Again this is just a rumor because there surley would have been SOMEBODY who wants to market it. Again this could only have been a rumor. Because I thought that this would have been a good custom. Even if it just a rumor for that simple fact nobody wants to touch it.

Yep...more of the same. This is why I almost all of my jets and bombers are diecast.

Very cool, I would love for BBI to make an A-10. I could spend my 89 bucks on that, since I won't be seeing the 21st Century F-4 anytime soon. :(

I did not want to start a thread on the A-10. I just wanted to mention about all of the new customs that are coming out now.The talk now is about how much . Not were are they?

Fellas this is a step in the right direction.

I couldn't agree more. Especially true for the diehard 1/18 armour fans who have indicated they won't switch to 1/16. If our handy dandy customizers start cranking out some 1/18 armour for us.

PICKELHAUBE:

2 questions:

1. Based on the info you've heard, would you suggest I wait for the BBI A-10 or go ahead and buy the Hobby Master A-10?

2. Someone on the Roy Sutherland thread mentioned some inside info on upcoming BBI models...have you heard what the new BBI models are?

My God...the BBI A-10 rumor is what...3-4 years old?

*EDIT* It wasn't a rumor. BBI DID came out with a 1/18th A-10 a while back....remember that...model?

That wasn't bbi, that was 21st Century. It's been around for about 5 years now. With the current situation over at 21st, I think it is definitely not happening. Time for someone to hit the ball.
Go Ugly Early in 1/18!!

Still waiting and wishing for a 1/18 A-10 Warthog.

That was Jason that mentioned something upcoming from BBI. Could be an A-10, maybe it's the Hind that was promised several years ago, or a Wildcat. Or something else.

Wait and see.....

Regardless if anyone comes out with a 1/18 A-10 you should get one of Hobby Master's 1/72 A-10s. I have four of them and they are awesome. Very nice detailing for the size and a full ordinance load out that you can choose from. :D

I would doubt BBI would release a 1/18 F4F Wildcat since the BBI 1/32 F4F Wildcat is being released soon.

I've seen the photos of 21st Century's A-10 prototype---is that the A-10 everyone is now referring to?

I think that is the only prototype that has ever been publicly displayed.

bbi showed a foam mock-up A-10 a few years ago to gauge interest.

I think the Hind has become a self-fulfilling prophecy. I'm pretty sure one was never "promised," and one certainly has never been shown.
