It's a full scale glider replica towed by a Do.27

http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.s ... entry=true
For anyone that doesn't know airliners.net is a great place to find high res pics of aircraft, doing a search for WWII or any military aircraft can yield some nice photos.

not funny, the last flying He-111, owned by the Confederate Air Force in Texas, crashed and burned killing all the crew a few years ago...thankfully I got to climb in and explore and then watch her fly before the tragic crash.smittyrob64 wrote:the luftwaffe is returning to the skies, Junker JU52/3, Fieslers, Me 109s, Me 262s, FW 190s(Upcoming)
Hmmm...yes luftwaffe in the skies again, well as long as the heinkels don't start heading towards London again.

I wasn't poking fun about that accident.
I didn't think it needed clarification.
Sorry to hear about that crash, heinkel 111 was always one of my favourites.
wasn't trying to sharp in the tongue, just made me remember when the old bird went off beyond the runway and crashed into a building.
Pilot error kills so many valuable aircraft it's really a shame.

correct Franco's ex-transport as legend says. At the time of the film the Spanishmitts and Heinkel..and Junker 52 were still in Spanish Air Force service and loaned for the film..Most were scrapped...well all the Heinkels were, some 109s were sold as were some Ju 52 later years after the film.smittyrob64 wrote:So that one was an ex Spanish built casa C-2 111 with the Rolls Royce engines correct?
In the movie "Battle of Britain" at the opening scene there are row upon row of those aircraft. What happened to them all, were they all retired then destroyed? I guess it has been 40 years since the film.
