Agreed. One of the best 2 engine lighter planes of the war. In my opinion, at least. If anyone made affordable plastic pre-built 110s...

well, the Me-110 was a piece of crap as a fighter. Way too heavy and slow, poor manouevrability. It was adequate as a night fighter and so-so as a strike aircraft. But still, it would be cool to have..

I meant aesthetically.

I should have phrased it best-looking. It certainly didn't win the war. To be honest I have only heard a few good things about them. It's also odd for fighter to have a 3 man crew. Now they're just getting complicated!

it did well a as Nachtjager(before you say the Heinkel was better) the Me 110G with radar outnumbered the Heinkel and gave the Canucks and Brits flying at night a hard enough time.
Also the 110 did a good job as a Jabo in Greece and Russia with the ausf.E model.
As a Daytime Anti-Bomber fighter it did ok/well in the role packing 2cm and 3cm cannon...least til the role could be filled by the better armoured and faster Me 410B.
Sure it wasn't the best fighter on Fighter, but then neither was the Beufighter...the RAF lost quite a few of those in the Italian theater to single seat Luftwaffe fighter.

for a nightfighter it was too lightly armed and too short on range. The Ju 88 was far superior as a nightfighter but they were in such demand for other uses that there were never enough nightfighters available, so the 110 was used because there were lots of them around and because it was adequate to the job.
Against unescorted bombers it performed well, but so would any twin engine plane under those circumstances.
It was at best a so-so aircraft, which was fortunate to fit into a few niches where it was useful. It's original concept as a heavy fighter for escorting bombers was a total failure; however it did pack quite a punch and if used in 'dive and run' tactics it was able to be somewhat effective in the fighter role.

actually the Do-215/217s outclassed the Junkers as Nachtjagers.

no, not at all. The dorniers were far too slow and heavy to be effective nightfighters. That's why virtually all of them were relegated to training or given over to the Italians. The N series was a bit better than the J series but both were considered poor seconds to the Ju-88's and production was brief with only a few hundred in total being made and few seeing operational service.
The only planes better than the Ju-88 as a nightfighter were the He-219 and the 262.

I wouldn't mind getting one of these. Would look good next to the 1:32 21st Me-109E Wasp squadron I already have.
It's been a while since I've built a model, but I used to be fairly good at it.
Wonder what the price will be for this kit?
It's 1:32 and it's a twin engine fighter-bomber. I wish we could get one pre-built, but this is a good start.

saw this priced at 99$ today...but it's a nice kit.
but I'll still got the old Revell kit of the "G" sitting on a shelf I got for 26$.
but the dragon kit has a lot of detail/stuff in the kit for sure.
