well hell
anyone who is willing to pay $30 per item for my gas to the target (multiple locs) and to FedEx , packing, time, and shipping costs
I will go get the ones here in town that you need but I will refund severe excess shipping if it occurs. i just need guinea pigs to start and to be honest, I am not going to be able to figure everyone's shipping right away, but the first few i ship will get us an estimate to go from
would need the item in my hand packed for weight size measurements and each item's weight, box shape and address/distance will be different as well.

would be sent fedex ground and u get in 2-5 days
maybe if several of you are in same city i can ship to one loc ad save with one big packed box instead of small individual shipping with today's gas surcharge

Ya know.. I think some folks are hesitant to accept helpful offers like yours for for a couple of simple reasons-
- I may find it tomorrow/next week and save money on freight
- No one's as picky as me when making my selection- (even though we
as collectors would undoubtably take this into consideration.)
I've made similar offers before and got no response, but for the obove reasons- and probably some more....) The most obvious thing for me is the chance I'll find it around here- having two kids, one income, price of gas; I actually have to be aware of where I spend 10.-15.00 dollars. I used to think people kept making more money every year until they retired...think again.

Went to Pasadena, Eagle Rock, Glendale, Burbank, and nothing. I give up, I'll wait for them to show up in my AO instead.

well ya I don't blame em either. i mean a they they read it they may think 50 others are responding ok y PM and that I will get lammed, mix up orders or not be able to find enough to fill everyone's order and then they get left out with a "sory they ran out" and paypal refund with neato bank charge.

Not to mention the thrill of collecting means finding it yourself. I know for me walking up on it at a store is most gratifying, but whe it came to finding this batch of marders and the 38t around xmas time i must have wasted over 500 man hours an ungodly amounts of gas looking for them in every wal-mart within 50 mile of my locaion and TRU's, that about 30+ walmarts and 5 TRU's through traffic, whe needed to be working or at ahome. Getting let down. I could have jut ordered the damn things off off flying mule or such but I was suborn, and yes I finally found them. But when I found them They were not in some mystical far off walmart in Frisco TX. I ran across the hetzer when I went o a walmart because it was by a place I NEEDED to go to. And then I came home al excited thinking how lucky I was to gind it at this walmart 30 miles away , posted about it and the next day went to walmart down the street and they were to the rafters with them, an since then? Every walmart I go to has marders , hetzers and 38t's
Bottom line was they got here when they got here. Every walmart got the same shipment (Maybe the Marder II instead of the Hetzer, but down the street it was the Hetzer instead of the Marder III)
I was able to buy when i needed them for repaint and they are ill there, I see them and laugh at how obsessed I was at finding them NOW. When I could have ordered them and paid shipping. I would have saved about $300 or more on gas for the shipping costs.

I offer because n one online has them and I stopped target last night right here 2 miles from my house last night to get apple juice for my pregnant GF and looked, yep 2 marder and 1 camo sherman..no planes. But day before t another target 1 mile for my house? 3 marders all the planes 3 sherman. I saw the 38t's off off central expressway. There tons of them here and they never sell out, maybe not have the plane or maybe not the sherman, but they restock. So I don't even own the 38t and Sherman, why? Because I know they are here and not going anywhere and when I have money to spare i will buy a bunch for my collection and to repaint. With the xmas bunch (S1) or 38t's and marders I would have overdrawn my account if i saw my first one, now... I just know they re here and will probably be an annoyance in a year or so when I want to get the 21stC Sturmtiger or su-122 (I just made those up, but pleeeese make em) but that's how it will be when the next batch hits, these will all be placeholders to us.
So I am saying they are here if you want them. I have had 2 people ask about shipping them, but they need to know all the details and that just isn't possible with me buying them first, i guess i could buy what I don't have and then offer them up, but same time times are tight here and I am in the process of getting and art agent who is renegotiating all my prices with my clients, I could go from making a good sum of money a week, to having no clients in few phone call and them waiting for him to secure people who will pay what we want for my art... ya know every dollar mgiht be electric bill or food, or it might be not so bad. I know it will all work out, but right now a tank that I can buy 2 months from now isn't so desperate. Knowing that someone isn't going to sweat an estimate of $5 FedEx vs it being 8 (doubt it, i shipped a 1:48 stuka for $7 yesterday FedEx ground, much bigger and heavier than what we are talking about here)

and I collect, even the one marder i bought because I wanted to say I ahve one was an impulse buy and I looked bdown as I was in line and there was a large drop of yellow paint on the front right of the hull, so i walked my butt ll the wy back to the toy section and got one without, so i am not going to ship people units with effed up paint or cracks in them, I wil just go to the next target 2-5 miles away and get another one. As to my gas expenses? No worries, I drive a bunch every day to get supplies drop off art order or hell look for and elusive playset with the ambush camo stug in it on the cheap. I saw the flak emplacement play set at a walmart here the other day and that i have never seen anywhere except a hobbytown or online, so I know it happens.

my advice? I f you don't want to go through other board member to get these or if they do come up online and you still want to avoid ship charges...don't obliterate that principle by driving all over your state looking. If they appear in a target 40 miles for you, they will bin the one next to you the same day or week. Save you gas money and just shop on ebarf or check you local TRU from time to time.
If you feel you cannot hesitate to drive spending 5-10 on gas, i would just PM me or another member now and get you plane/tank/afv and know you DID beat the collector's gremlins by sving money on tons of ga and frustration, then when they show in your area you ca fill up on your extras if you you do that.

I am leaving to go to my favorite hobby shop here in 39 mins (this isn't to rush anyone I can and will be about tomorrow) if there is just one single or group of items you want let me know .

My address is the 75206 area (Dallas)
these will sip less than $7 because that 1:48 stuka went for $7 and these will be much less in dimensions and weight
my paypal and normal email (without spaces is c a b e _ B o o t h @ s w b e l l DOT NET
if you want to prepay and add a ship of $5 I can refund the difference and I think I can handle covering anything over than as long we are not shipping international

my hobbytown has
tons of 1:46 1:72 and 1:32 planes and 1:32 tanks and truck plus FoV armor ect. Just lemme know

and if they don't have it when I get there? I will keep your money until they do or i will send it back
or heck I can tel you what else they do have you might be surprised it is a BIG store. My friend and agent just bought out 2 hobby stores plus the one he just bought/owns so he is going to be well stocked (and my agent hooray) so i will be around and I will be able to help you if you need it.
I doubt I will be slammed with requests, yours might be the only request I get and that's fine, it s just an offer to help since I have them all over town
if you want ask before you send money if I am busy with 20 people or even 10 (doubt it) but the again I have not posted this email yet....so here goeswell yeah, I don't blame em either. i mean as they they read it they may think 50 others are responding to me by PM and that I will get slammed, mix up orders or not be able to find enough to fill everyone's order and then they get left out with a "sorry they ran out" and paypal refund with neato bank charge.

My big concern is that the only Four Star Military sold at the Target here in the past week are the ones I bought. Still have 3 Marders and 2 Sherman sets

I'm starting to think that those of you finding these in your local Targets might be in a "test areas" to see how well they sell. That would explain why most of us haven't spotted any. However, If they are selling as slowly as has been reported then that might not be so good for the rest of us. But hey, I'm a born and bred pessimist.

The Buena Park Target is probably the only known testing area for 21stCT in SoCal, I think this is where Bruzzer found them.
I've been there before and it is within striking distance, but I'm not interested in repaints at the moment and I'm more concerned with finding XDs at K.B. Toys right now.

Still nada up here either. Worse yet, each time I go to look for them I end up buying more SW stuff. I am still holding out hope as all the local Targets are not yet done with their toy resets.

That is a bummer. I was in Visalia today to visit the library for my thesis research (and spent several hours making scans of the Visalia Equal Rights Expositor publication on microfilm). I also did some recon at the Wal Mart and TRU and realized only after I was heading back up the 99 that I'd forgotten to visit the Target. Guess I didn't miss anything.

Have you by chance visited the SuperTarget in Tulare to see if it had anything new?

talk about a typo. How the hell did i miss that? $30 per item????

sheesh. how about the cost of the irem plus $5 to ship it.
thirty dollars... no wonder nobody PM'd me

might as well said $100

but actually send me $20 and I should be able to get the AFV to you, the sherman is a bit more because its a play set so $24 should do that and I do not remember the plane prices, but for the sake of moving along I will say $21 and if I need to do any modifications to that price i will worry about it on later PMs folks send and just cover the needed ship $ (if needed) on the first few as a test run on totals, i am under-estimating here not over.

and if you take your vehicle out of the box like me and remove them from the beautiful lime green display plate like the rest of the world, then we can definitely get it in a smaller box for a lower ship charge if you can live without the box and plate

You should have let me know, we could have grabbed lunch or something...

The last time I checked the Tulare Target was right about when people started noticing 21st stuff at Targets. Not suprisingly, no changes there. I suppose I'm due to check it again. How was our TRU? I haven't been in about a week. When I was there, it was well stocked, but not with anything special. Ever since they redid their shelving and stopped mis-pricing everything, my interest level has gone down. Until recently Target was the place to go, but now... Well, just as well that I'm broke I guess. Time to stay home and work on projects that I've already started.

TRU wasn't too bad. Like you said, well stocked, but nothing new or exciting over what I have in Fresno. (Keep hoping to find the 1:18 AVG P-40s, but no luck yet.)

Still none at my Targets since I first saw them. Everytime I go into a Target I check the DPCI number. I've checked so many times I know it by heart now and don't have to write it down anymore.

One of the WM's in my AO (can't remember which) had 3-4 of those P-40's. I don't pay too much attention to 1:18 aircraft, not may around anymore anyhow.

I don't think 21st is going to be a success at Target. The Target I went to today had 9 Chinese infantry sets, 6 Marder SPG and 6 Fw190. You need some variety in a display to move stuff. You also need something popular. Chinese infantry figures seem too obscure to be the first figures you offer. As for the Marder, why not include another vehicle like the Hetzer or even an allied vehicle. Same which the Fw190's. My two cents worth.

No sign of 21st in my local Target. Even the fancier Target down South that I hit today didn't have any, and they usually have everything at that one since it's in a rich area.
