Those look nice! The new boxes are pretty nifty as well. Will Target be 21st's saviour?!?!?!

I still say, I like to see new tool versions of the Panzer III and IV with this level of detail. Start off with a Afrika Korps PZIII!

Called 6 Targets today- 2 said they were not on their planogram, 3 did not have any and did not know if they would get them, the one closest to home had 4 Marder III repaints, 2 Sherman playsets, one Black 2 FW and one p-51 Double Nothing The P-51 had a broken prop but I bought it anyway since none of the otherstores close seem to have them)

I just wish I could find these blasted pieces of plastic junk :? With six Targets in my town alone (the next nearest stores are 50 miles away north or south) one would think at least one of those stores would get in the new 21c items, especially since they are getting such wide coverage all across the country, even in my own state. Frustrating, just too darn frustrating :?

I hear you buddy. The Target in town is about 18 miles one way and the only other one in my AO is close to 20. I went to town for the first time in a week today. Even visiting my neighborhood (8 miles) WM is getting to be costly.

Worst part is that using the AC in the care is a MUST unless you want to be drenched in sweat and stinky when you arrive. Using the AC may not affect MPG in cars with bigger engines but in my borrowed Saturn it saps the power like mad. Tonight I drove to Target in town with the windows down since it gets much cooler after 7pm or so and the gas needle barely moved.

So I'd love to hit all the Targets and WalMarts like I used to, but I just can't do it.

I say by the first of August we will be awash in Target 21C releases. Each of my Targets has great gaping holes in their toy aisles where they will be doing some serious rearranging. I think either along with or soon after the clone wars release they will have their master plan in place. 8)

Thats what I tell myself when I get frustrated at finding squat.

lemme know i am hitting the town in about 2 hours

I saw the shermans
marders
pz 38ts

a mustang with a checkerboard nose
a cloudy gray FW d-9
and other planes i cannot remember.

Nice looking Shermie and troops!!! I only have two Target's in my AO, one 14 and the other 20 miles away so I can usually only hit one or the other. Figures they'd do this now when tons of GI Joe and Star Wars stuff is coming out!

Are those US troops in the Sherman pack? I really need more Americans.

The good news:

Finally spotted the 4 Star Military 38T and Marder. Outstanding weathering and paint jobs! Very well done! :D

The bad news:

21C appears to keep making the same mistakes.. The Chinese infantry are well done, but 3 pegs full is just silly.. Guess the good news is that there's a guarantee I'll get them on clearance.

Still no 4SM AC at my Target... :(
Maybe next week.

Fortunately, the trip was not a total waste.
Both of my kids picked out a new Star Wars animated figure.

Damn it, I just want these things to show up! Why do podunk places in the middle of the country always get everything good while equally podunk places in the west and east coasts do not? I guess time will tell, but I did fortunantly get the P-51 from Hworth18. That was what I wanted most from this new series

Nothing here either.
I went to the Pico Rivera & Commerce Targets near the 5 Fwy, nothing, just a lot of 1st Edition Star Wars figures. All of my Targets in my AOR and a few others a little bit out of it has all the FOV stuff gone, and no supposed shelf space for 21stCT.
I'll see if I can head further north on the 5 Fwy later.

Re: Figures with the N. African scheme Sherman...they are Italian (I'm sure 21CT has quite a few wheel barrel loads of these figs in their inventory)...good news/bad news...all stowage, antenna, etc. that we used to get with the Sherman haven't fallen prey to cost saving skimpiness, they're packaged under the tank in a small plastic bag...unfortunately, my MG was bent at three different angles, wish me luck straightening that one out...

Target recon

Post by PanzerArm » Sun Jul 27, 2008 10:08 pm

Went to one of my local Targets today and found nothing like what I see most everyone else is coming across. Just a stug at full price, a HIMARS, and more FOV stuff I'd seen before, nothing new, nothing on sale. I don't work for the first half of the day tomorrow, but my fiance does, so I think I'll be pulling a recon of at least three others in my area just to clear my conscience while she's not around to sigh at me. 8)
