I started this on Fri. This has always been one of the projects that I have wanted to do. I even had Jackdon make some decals for the Rudel last flight version about 3 years ago. It has been so long that I have no idea were the decals are now.
These are shots before I put a coat of primer on. Just a little bondo and sanding is all it takes.
Sure is ugly isn't it ?

Thanks for the edit. The D had the canopy change with the streamlined cowling. The D-1 actualy used the same landing gear as the B. I am making the D and the G model. The G will have the long wings with canons ala Rudel. Early G had the short wings as well because they used D's and modified them.

Wow! Impressive project, pickelhaube. I have a tiny little Dragon Warbirds Ju 87G - I don't have enough room for a 1:18 beauty like the one you're working on! Thanks for keeping us "in the loop" as it were... it looks like you're making great progress.
I don't think Stukas had dive sirens mounted after the first year of the war - you should probably remove them and smooth the hole over.

The first one I am making will be a Ju-87 D1. It had the original large gear. The gun mount was the same but larger caliber. Of course the canopy and cowling were the major change. There were also nick nacks like the stab strut , different angled rudder and a few other minor changes. I will also make some changes on the 21st model. The prop has silly bumps close to the spinner that need to be smoothed over and the prop itself has a forward rake that needs to be changed. I am also looking at cutting off the ailarons and droping them down were they should be. This has always bugged me on the 21st Stuka. I am not sure if I will do this . I need to look at it more. The paint version will be a all over tropical DAK brown with no green bloches.
Here is a pic of it.

The Ju-87 G will get the full treatment. Thinner gear cleaned up guns brakes stab trut and longer wings. Not to mention those canons. I had to get those built first because they are so cool looking. They look bad a$$ hanging from the bottom of the wing.
Here is Rudel's last Stuka
http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww2/b/29/2/4/14_b7
I have about 24 hrs in the project so far and see about 30 or so left to finish. Then it is paint time, hopefully.

Very cool

Thanks guys, I really like this one myself. Something about those anti tank cannons just really get me going. They are so cool. I wonder how they will look on a P-40 ?

really nice,
I will try to get with you on my stuka's shipping cost. I have been sick or you would have had that yesterday.
that is a some serious, modding for my favorite plane of the war.
It shocks me that nobody has released this variant commercially. they have the plane already modeled
You will do well if you sell them on ebarf
Now, why the heck hasn't anyone released a sturmovick? Can you imagine the loadout options packed into the box?
would need a shelf to display them.
see my art and model gallery at http://www.cabebooth.com

I posted on Norman 888's post the status of the Stuka . I messed up on the side scoop starboard side. I made it too big. I have sanded it down and need to do more bondo. The panel lines are done so all I have to do is do the chin scoop grill and the cowling is done.
The cannon is almost right and I have already made a master RTV mold and casted a copy. It looks great. All I need to do is make the rear pod hanger and they will be done. I was thinking of making these cannons and putting them up for sale cannons only. I know that they will not be correct for the Stuka B but they still will look cool on them anyway.
The last major hurdle is to do the canopy. I will do the master , but I need to make a bigger vacumeform machine. This could take a couple of days. I will try to post progress pics tomorrow or Thur.
Anybody want any 1/18 scale 37 mil cannons ?

I might be interested in a pair, and a canopy too.
