What kind of trade would you offer...
A local store has several windows in it's front facade. I one of the displays (old); there is a simple diorama of consisting of several 1/18th AC and a couple of tanks. There is and Eileen tbolt facing a yellow tailed 109 (sahl or the other one). The Eileen has fallen onto the foam display atop the BBI sherman. Facing this on the other side of the display is a winter panther. I want the winter panther as well as the Eileen- I had chances to buy them both off the shelve at those times. I have extras of the 1/18th candy striped 109d and the first edition BBD p-51; How should I approach this trade? The owners of the store don't seem to give a rats ass about the p-47 laying on top of the sherman....Maybe I should ask to rehang my stuff and throw in a little $$$ on the side. Of couse, maybe they won't give a sh..t about any of this at all.

I would say to approach them with your offer, making light of the condition of the display items. If they want to sell them to you, then that might also be a good option.
Three years ago, I got a German F-104 from a small hobbyshop in my town in a similar manner. The owner had the plane out on display and upon seeing it for the first time, I fell in love with the plane. I enquired about it and he gave it to me for $50. At the time, the German F-104 was still a convention exclusive and had not gone to the small retailers or Wal Mart. It was somewhat hard to find at the time and $50 for one was a deal

I called today and talked to a cashier/employee/receptionist/etc, and was told the following- "The items in the display window are not for sale, HER dad, the proprieter, sat up the display several years ago before he died, the items are not for sale........" With a due respect; nothing comes between a girl and her daddy. So, the eileen p-47 will continue to lie atop the bbi sherman with a possible broken prop, the surrrounding pieces of green colored faom landscape will continue to fade in the sun ( but not the XD AC), and I will try again later- in person, of course.
