Saw that this morning. I think we'll get a real update and pictures soon enough when the convention happens. I'm sure 21c will have the production F-104 on display, as well as the new 1:18 and 1:32 vehicles & figures that are at Wal Mart stores now. They should also have Sahara vehicles and figures on display as well! It would not surprise me to see the Japanese figures and perhaps (please!) a painted production prototype of the Avenger. Heck, they may even have the Sahara (or Japanese) figures for sale, just like they did with the modern figures!

Perhaps the prototypes of the sabre and mig. May see the ME-262 but I doubt anything really surprising.

I still don't know the exact details myself and I am out of the office on a family vacation till thursday next week. I think that when I get back I should have all the details locked down and I can provide a full report on AREA-21. What I can tell you, is you guys may want to consider making travel plans now! The word EXCLUSIVE has been thrown around more than once! See you guys on Friday and have a great week. :D

T-Man, you're scaring me :o
By the middle of July I hope you have a 104 in your apartment, and I plan to have Japanese figures defending against USMC assault.
Exclusive could be very cool, I always wanted to go to San Diego.... :D

Exclusive, hmmm? Any chance it could be an Area 21 exclusive as well, for those of us who can't make it?

I'd have to disagree with boomboomjr for once. I LOVE Comic Con, and I recommend it to anyone who really does want to have a great time. The lines can be long, yes, but just get there when the doors open and it won't be all that long. Preview night is the best time to get exclusives as most people don't go to that. It is crowded... but the Star Wars Celebration III convention was 100x more crowded than Comic Con ever was. I highly highly recommend to anyone who's thinking of going to go, you won't regret it.

The 21c Website is down? It still works for me (Area21 site included) and looks just like it did yesterday and the day before. Try it again, perhaps, but I do hope something is indeed brewing!

It's still down for me...

And I thought bbi was working on the Zero? Maybe 21st wants to beat them to the punch :P

i'm expecting this 'major' announcement to be something pretty bland. Could just be that there will be a comic con exclusive figure (which will probably just be a repaint of an existing figure).

Could also be a 32x product announcement and not have anything to do with 1/18. I wouldn't get hopes very high...

I'd LOVE to get a new figure but if they're repainting anything then it probably has wings.....if I were an AC guy then I'd be excited :D After all, they HAVE to come through with something cool after saying "Big Announcement". :)

heheh.....ok, you're not banned. This time. ;)

I've been thru many of 21c's 'big' things and they're usually pretty lame. However, we'll see. I'd rather they just plopped stuff on us out of the blue like BBI does (or at least used to.....what's up with them anyway? I would have thought we'd have heard something new from them by now).

As for the exclusive it will probably be a figure; convention exclusives normally are figures because they are made in small numbers and even a vehicle repaint needs to be done in runs of thousands to justify/recover the cost. A figure with some small paint and packaging changes can be done in a small run for cheap. My guess is the exclusive will be a german tanker repaint in new camo.
