It just gets depressing when so much new stuff is coming out in 1:72 scale (several new players lately), but so little comes out in 1:48 and 1:32. I am 57 years old. At the rate things are coming out in the larger scales, my wife will be putting the new models on my grave!

From the numbers I have heard, it's about $25,000 for the molds.. But I would imagine that figure depends on the size of the mold and the complexity of it's parts..
There is more stuff coming out in 1/48 and 1/32 this year.. It will just take a little more time because these are two scales lightly touched on before that are coming into popularity.. I would expect to see more coming soon as 21st is coming out with a 1/32 Fw-190, P-47, P-40, repaints of the 262 and others, not including the new 1/32 King Tiger and Jagdtiger.. Armour/Franklin Mint makes just about any plane you could want, but the quality isn't always that great.. Eagles Int'l may produce a second plane this year with a Razorback P-47 and Fw-190D9 or "other" possibly in the works..
So My friend, I wouldn't let the missus bury you yet.. Atleast not for another year or so..
