1/48 Mustang question

Post by olifant » Sun Jun 15, 2008 12:20 am

I got on the 1/48 21C bandwagon a little late and have been trying to catch up. (Have I told you guys this is the scale we will see multi-engine bombers in yet? :D ) Today I found the "Bald Eagle" and "Shangri-La" but both have the Malcolm hoods. Questions:

1) Were the first releases of these with the Malcolm hoods or did they have the "B" model birdcage?

2) Isn't there also a 1/48 "Princess" for a total of three 1/48 Mustang paint schemes?

Thanks if you can assist.

"Bee" was the 1st release and it has the standard Birdcage canopy.
"Princess" was the 2nd release, followed by "Bald Eagle" and "ShangriLa".

As 1/18 dies off, I think we will see even more emphasis shifting to 1/48 and 1/32 and yes, Oli, I definitely agree with you. I can foresee the B-17 coming in this scale eventually. :D

Assuming its not too late... the 1:48 P-51s come with both the Malcolm hood and the framed canopy, so you have both display options. Pieces the display the framed canopy in the opened position are included as well. They also have optional bombs and drop tanks.
