Pretty good price for a new Panther.
http://cgi.ebay.com/21st-Century-Diecas ... dZViewItem
With the shipping, its just a tad higher than other hobby shops for the tank alone. And its a hobby and collectables business which are generally more expensive. Was tempted but the IRS is wanting more money from me right now. And I believe its a few cents lower than some others pre-order special price.

No doubt, I remember getting my s1 panther at TRU back in the day for around 40 bucks. Ahhhh, the old days where toys were abundant and prices were cheap.Teamski wrote:Could you imagine hearing a Panther go for that in 2002 with such lauditory comments? Times have definately changed.

No. I never imagined some of these XD items being worth what they are. Back in 2002, I actually declined purchasing an S1 Panther because the box was trashed (never mind the intact tank inside). I later regretted the decision, but made amends when I got a loose one from that one-time board member Catman for something like $50 in late 2006. Still my favorite scheme for the Panther

There was another Panther listed on Ebay under a thriftstore as the seller.
The tank was only listed under "21st Century Tank" and went for about 21 bucks plus shipping...
I was watching it, but it ended when I was in church yesterday and could not bid on it...
Oh well...
I missed a Kubelwagen that was included as an extra to a bunch of loose Indy stuff too! It went for about 26.00 plus shipping...

If he's trying build a whole Panzer division, I think he may have a ways to go, a full strength mid war (1943) German Panzer division had about 170 tanks in it's TO&E, earlier divisions had 200+ and from 1945 on the number declined, but realistically you'd have to have well over a hundred tanks to even approximate a full divisions compliment of tanks, man...that's a lot of plastic in 1/18 scale..If I may ask, why do you have such a large humber of German tanks? I've heard things about a possible panzer division. Is that the case?

Yeah, and if he did pull it off, which, honestly, isn't that hard to imagine, I'd hope he changes turret numbers, little alterations like that so each one is different, and then, puts them all out on a field, full crew, and takes some cool pictures.

Yeah, different turret numbers is a MUST
Now who makes the same font in the proper color ????
I wish I had the room to store 100 tanks I've got over 70 tanks now - both German and American. It would be hard to build an entire divison, But I'll have a good portion of one
My goal was to re-enact one sector of the battle of the Arden. If I co-ordinated my Panthers and Tiger I s plus Panzers, It'd give me about 39 tanks for the huns. No match for the 20 some odd Shermans The Allies can muster. And German troops outnumber the Americans by at least 3 to 1
I plan on changing history - At least in 1/18 world
I dunno, I just think a bunch of tanks look real cool
Herr General

The Allies were outnumbered at the start of the Ardennes offensive. Not to mention that Allied units in that area were either being re-fitted and on R&R, or plain inexperienced. But even though they were pushed back. The line didn't break. The scary Panthers and King Tigers proved largely ineffectual against determined American resistance.General Blasto wrote:Yeah, different turret numbers is a MUST![]()

So I think your 20-odd Shermans and American troops can hold the line.
