Questions about Tiger/M113/Huey

Post by MandaloreSC » Tue Oct 26, 2004 12:52 pm

Hi Guys! I´m a fan of XD figures and armor in germany. After finding out that XD was no longer available in TRU and that close to none figures and Tanks were announced I lost interest in the line and thougt it was finished. Now that there are some cool new toys on the way and I found the new headquarters I will keep on collecting XD. When I did some research I found some XD items, that confuses me.
I hope you guys can help me and answer me a few questions:

If I have understood this right, there are two new versions of the tiger available. One die cast tiger available in the motorworks package in Walmarts. The paint job is just gray without any winter deco, isnt it? And the exclusive figure is exacly the same black tank commander.
But there are pictures of tigers and panthers on ebay that have a much better Winter paint job and these ones include 2 tank drivers in white winter overalls. Where are this versions available? I have found them nowhere, only in ebay.

I was very happy to find out that the M 113 is available now. But info on this toy is very few to find. Is it die cast or just regular plastik? How many different paint schemes are around? How much is it? 40$

Is there a Huey around which features more than just one exclusive pilot? And if so, where is it available?

It would be cool if someone could help me with these questions! Thanks very much!

PS:Hi Mark E, if you are around!

Sure, I'll help you! The new XD Tigers are currently available at Walmart and online retailers. They are diecast and there is the Gray (with black figure) and Winter (with white figure) version available. The Winter Panther is out as well...........

The "Air Cav" Huey was released at Walmart with only one figure. You can get it with 4 figures On-line at Bad Cat Aviation or Small Blue Planet among others:

http://www.badcataviation.com/

http://www.smallblueplanet.com/content/index.asp

Note that there is also a new "tiger mouth" Huey as well.

The M113 is plastic and I haven't heard whether or not it's $40, but I would think it is, especially with 2 figures.

Hope this helps and welcome back to the fun!!

Hey MandaloreSC,

By any chance have you seen any of the Corgi XD showing up in Europe?? I saw some showing up in the UK and may be on their way to you. Check with a store that carries Corgi and you might just luck out!

Winter tanks

Post by MandaloreSC » Tue Oct 26, 2004 3:57 pm

Thanks Teamski!

The links were very helpful. But SBP does'nt seem to have the Winter Tiger and the other store is to expensive, I think. Also I don't see any M113. Maybe its to early to find them in the web. Its always the same - You guys over in the U.S. can go to the next walmart an buy a tiger tank for 20 $ and the XD Fans over here have problem finding the stuff somewhere in online stores and have to pay much more. Over here in Europe XD is nowwhere available for a good price. I don't know that Corgi stuff. Maybe because I only collect 1/18 and only armor and figures. You wrote Corgi XD - does that mean they will do a line in 1:18?

Does the second Version of the tiger (winter/white driver) only include one figure? I wish I could find the winter versions (with winter driver) of the Tiger, Panther and sherman somewhere for a good price. Same with the M113.

Again, thanks Teamski!

They only come with one driver.

As for Corgi, they have released 1:18 XD in Europe! (at least in the UK)! Check out the pictures of them in the miscellanious folder on my Webshots accout. (Just click on the website button and go to miscellanious. There are 3 pictures showing 1:18 Corgi Stukas and Spitfires....) Again, you will have to find a place that sells it there........

The M113's are plastic and all in my area are $40 just like everything else. From the looks of it, just about every hatch on the thing can open, not bad.

Looks like Europe will have the Corgi Cold Steel 1/32 line as well!:

You can search Google using "Corgi Classic Warbirds" or "Corgi Classic Armour" and you will find a bunch of sites that have them. So all is not lost for European collectors. Gut Gluch!!

failing that you can try the traders forum, maybe you have something that's available in europe that can be traded over here for a winter tiger.

Also, try ebay, they should be getting cheap on there. Shipping could be a bit high as this thing is diecast and noticably heavier than the earlier version. You may want to choose surface shipping. Takes a few weeks longer but you'll save a bundle.

Not too long ago I was able to pick up a winter Sherman off of eBay for $35 delivered. I got the same deal on a winter Tiger. Shipping out of the country would be higher but it would still be cheaper than buying from an online store.
The link below is the same person I bought both my tanks from. He seems to get them in quite often so just keep checking his auctions. He usually has a pretty cheap buy it now option.

That Seller right there is a great guy - we've done business both on and off ebay. I've got my sights on his M4 custom so lay off...j/k...

As for the Winter Tiger, I think the 21C version is plastic, and it does look more "winterized" or less weathered if you will.
I think it comes with two figures as well.

SBP's air cav huey doesn't say with full crew so I'm not sure if it does have all four guys. Btw, are they just saying pre-order on their new tanks so not to give out free shipping? They still say pre-order on the modern figures which have been out for months - it's starting to piss me off.....
