must be nice to walk to your local TRU and Walmart for them. We have both stores everywhere up here in Canada but the 21C trucks stop at the boarder. Don't know why and I'm not old enough to trade yet. What are the odds of the vietnam guys warming the pegs for the next 5 months? :P

For us West Coast guys, I found these last weekend so they may be working their way west...

Good hunting.

Platoon figures

Post by dandaman » Sat May 03, 2008 9:18 am

Anybody wanna buy some Platoon figures?

ROFL - sorry I couldn't resist.

In case you don't get the humor, Platoon guys are everywhere. You can't give them away.

You can give them all to me and olifant! Then we can just swap heads with WWII guys and we'll have enough for an actual platoon :D

for a while Mojo was the hardest AB to find out here, but then Stony Brook TRU got about 8 of them in...I have yet to see the new Nam Caucasian figure mentioned here that has the M-79 grenade launcher (was the name D'Amato...? I don't remember...)...or dual packs for that matter...PS finally scored a 2-tone FOV Sherman at the Targe, but I would have preferred the solid camo...Tigers, well, I gave up hoping for them...will report if I chance upon one...
I got D'amato in the mail today from smalljoes.com and he looks EXACTLY like Lt. Reyes. The only thing different is the name and weapons but has the same head. I feel kinda cheated. Anyone else confirm this or did I get a monday figure?

Got my platoon figures just now in the mail. Their head sculpts kinda look like the actors but the prototypes look a hell of a lot better. At least there refreshing since I have 4 of each of the five. I kinda like how they come with the 25th Inf. patches on their shoulder, the shotgun is a nice change but the last thing i needed was more m21's. I was kinda hoping Barns or Elias (i forget which one) came with an XM177E1 but oh well. On the card it mentions special edition vehicles. Does this mean the 1:18 huey will be reissued?

I highly doubt it. But if they did, hot damn would 21st have a cheap fortune. EVERYONE knows a Huey, kids and parents. I wish I could own and fly a Huey. I'd buy the 1:18th Huey, and Cobra for that matter. My AH-64 is lonely and those little birds are, well, little, Kiowas aren't much better and that BBI Blackhawk is supposed to be cheesy.

You know what would make me happy, 21c, BBI, or anyone? A Ka-50 in 1:18 or 1:32. :D

Sightings in Sacramento area (finally)

Walmart in Natomas has some for $4.95. the packages are bit munted but all the parts are there.

I had higher expectations for these guys but I'm glad to have them (I did open this bunch and kept the evilbay lot MOC). In this case the packaging adds a nice touch to the figures, but its good to have some out where i can get my hands on them!

That's great! Maybe now they'll start their march down into the SF Bay Area.
