I've got a question about comparing the folding wing/landing gear problem of the BBI F6F Hellcat "Catmouth" to the BBI F4U Corsair "Daisy June"---if the Hellcat is displayed in the flying mode (wings extended and landing gear in the up position), would there be a folding wing/landing gear problem during assembly AND display? (i.e. drooping wings, etc.)
(My Corsair is in the flying mode, too, so there are no problems because I don't use the folding wings or retracting landing gear---the only problem I had was the elbow grease required to fit the wings together).
BBI Hellcat vs Corsair--folding wings/landing gear?

Re: BBI Hellcat vs Corsair--folding wings/landing gear?
I've had my hands on a lot of corsairs and hellcats. I haven't seen any issue with drooping wings unless the hinge is cracked or the guide tabs are broken off.dragon53 wrote:I've got a question about comparing the folding wing/landing gear problem of the BBI F6F Hellcat "Catmouth" to the BBI F4U Corsair "Daisy June"---if the Hellcat is displayed in the flying mode (wings extended and landing gear in the up position), would there be a folding wing/landing gear problem during assembly AND display? Slow, firm & rocking movement will get the wings a part / together.
