Nothing says PARTY ANIMAL like having an old Soviet dual AA gun mounted to the bed of your rusty old Nissan! The falling shrapnel says I love you!

Good luck on finding 1:32 pick ups! If you do, let me know. I've got a couple of VW bugs to use as background vehicles, and a BMW Z3, but that's about it. Even though the Z3 is based more on the E36 chassis, rather than the E30, I was thinking of doing something like this with the Z3:

As both an armor fan, and a BMW mechanic, it's a very tempting idea.

What is it with Mid-East militaries and white Japanese pick-ups, anyway? Isn't Desert Sand Metallic a color option on these things?
  Always glad to put some new projects into your head Schiz!:P And your right about the white trucks, maybe they should take a hint from the RAF and paint them pink! Also, I guess the dudes in the picture weren't too concerned about attracting attention to their Nissan mobile AA battery. I wouldn't imagine that just draping a tarp over that big ass gun mount would do the trick :lol:

It would be awesome to find a 1:32 pickup or other suitable vehicle and mod it into a technical! And Ruger that FUBAR BMW would make a cool subject. Go for it!

I did stumble across some already sold 1:32 pick ups on Ebay once. Seems Ertl might have made some for tractor manufacturers, possibly John Deere. I'll be checking out my John Deere dealers toy section shortly, but wanted to wait until they'd put it back together after the holidays.

I'm also debating using some 1:35 or 1:34 items I've seen. I might be able to pull that off.

I wish I knew the whole story on that BMW. I remember reading that it was a traffic accident with a tank, but that's about all. And you know the way our media goes, if it has more than three axles and/or a turret of any sort, it's a tank. Bradley, M113, LAV, MRLS, M109, M88... all tanks in their eyes. I'd like to do something similar, but I'm concerned that my 1:32 BMW doesn't have the same level of detail as the 1:1 BMW they used. I might go for "crushed" more than "opened", esp as mine is a convertible to begin with.

A few months ago there were some 1/32 Land Rovers on e-bay that we extremely nice models. They were new Defenders done in a safari scheme and were absolutely beautiful and I would have loved to customize them, but they ended up going for over $60 shipped and it got too rich for me. I can't remember the manufacturer but could not find any for sale on the web. If anyone can refresh my memory I would appreciate it.

Thanks
