NEW CORGI 1/72 AIRCRAFT

Post by graycap » Mon Apr 18, 2005 1:15 pm

Corgi are adding a Me 262 and F-86 Sabre to their 1/72 diecast line in the 2nd half of 2005. Two versons of both. The Sabres seem to be in Korean War markings , one flown by John Glenn. One of the 262s is a machine flown by Galland. Another nice model is a He III with a V-1 under one wing.

Finally - a Corgi ME-262! I'll have to keep my out for that, as that is one 1:72 scale plane I've been waiting for them to make. The F-86 Sabre should be nice as well, though I'm perfectly happy with my 1:72 Matchbox Collectables F-86 that is also in the markings of John Glenn's aircraft.

When can we expect to see the Corgi Me-262 on the shelves here in the States?

ME262

This is great news and am looking forward to the Fall releases from Corgi.

However, I also read that Corgi will not have any new armor until 2006 but will be releasing some 1:50 scale diorama.

Dragon will also be doing the ME262 sometime in the future according to their new catalogue but it didn't have any pictures.

It sounds like the six diorama sets will be including 2-3 figures and a vehicle. Whether these are new issues or recycling of existing ones, is not clear.

A 1/72 Me 262 and F-86 sounds pretty cool. What scale is the He111 with the V-1s?
