Who would you prefer to see a new wave of figures from?

Post by olifant » Sun Apr 27, 2008 8:53 pm

I used yet another $5 off $25 coupon tonight at Target getting more FOV figures and it got me thinking...Who would I like to see come out with a new wave next? BBI, FOV or 21C?

I think BBI wins the sculpting, painting and realism hands down. Their distribution seems to be spotty though and I can only find them at TRU. They are also slightly more expensive.

21C has all the new preformed legs and often give options on coats which make for great variety. They suffer from spotty distribution and take waaaaaaayyyyyy too long to hit the shelves in the GNW.

FOV is inexpensive, quality is slightly higher than 21C in my opinion and once Target finally got them shipped into the stores they seem to be restocked rather regularly. They have lots of extra 1/18 diorama goodies which are much appreciated. Also, I like the fact that Germans/Americans are issued at a 1/1 ratio.

I would prefer to see a new wave of figures from FOV. Cheap, readily available and nicely done. And this would be a nice touch to get them with the new "Warriors of the World" releases.

Thoughts?

I said BBI, ONLY if they will make a new German figure(s)
Russians would be good too, but my German army out numbers the Allied army and I like it that way  I must have a hankering for the Huns I guess  But all I ever saw from them was allied troops. I'd love to see some Germans from them and maybe some good German tanks and vehicles that have NOT been made yet ;) Da General

I am not into figs and the ones I do have are all 21st. So I guess that would be my vote.
Kirk Douglas : Mine hit the ground first
John Wayne : Mine was taller

I have to say FOV. The price is good and IMO they're headsculpts are the best available. They just need to work on historical accuracy a bit and scale up the size of some of their weapons. Hopefully they will tackle some of the things 21C seems reluctant to do like Brits, a BMW R75 w/ sidecar and maybe a Schimmwagen.

BTW I don't want to seem to be contradicting something I said in another thread concerning political correctness and historical accuracy. When I say historical accuracy, I'm not talking about insignia. I'm talking about proper uniforms and equipment on some of their WW2 figures.

21st has the best articulation, poses and lines for the price....a modern, and soldiers of the world line would better expand their market share.....WWII gets old ......

I voted for BBI, as their figures tend to have the greatest realism and quality. FOV would be a close second for me, however. Both lines, as of late, have been easy for me to find. 21c not so much.

I'm going with 21C. The Marines were the best-although I miss the articulation in their shoulders. 21C has covered more ground with their figures and the stands they use are the best! 21C could use some more 'weathering' on their figures.
Don't care for the 'rubbery' stands that FOV figures have. FOV figures tend to fall over.
bbi figures are very good!!! BUT...NO stands...
