Custom DAK Heavy MG Gunner

Post by Razor17019 » Tue Apr 22, 2008 9:05 pm

I wish I could get a hold of more of these knelling DAK figures. They are so cool! I had gotten some S1 German MG figs in an Ebay lot. The MG figs each had the bottom part of their right leg gone. (don't ask me how that happens 6 times?)
So, I have been trying to figure out what to do with these guys. I had a knelling DAK MP-40 figure nearby and combined it with my S1 MG fig to create this:

I have not yet painted the figure's uniform to match the tan DAK arms and legs, but I like the look of the two types of figures combined.

What do you guys think?

It IS intresting when parts from one figure can be used on another ;)
Now I may have found some use for these DAK guys and their dreadful short sleeves ;) Change this, swap that and a touch of sharpie pen and Wa La, I now have a Stall officer with a leather coat 8)

Now if I could just get the party arm band on this guys arm :? And, I will have to find one of those white officers hats and color it tan ;)
Now here's a shot of him with Heini, the crazy guy with the mini gun :P

These first series figure (US & German) were fragile in the fact if you were not careful with the joints right off the card, they would snap right off. Only way to make sure that doesn't happen would have been to warm up the figure int water or the push/pull method.

Great looking custom there and nice use of the older guys.

Would be cool if 21st Century would put out updated articulated arms and legs for these older series 1 figures. I would even like some for the first series Vietnam guys too. Maybe add in a few different head sculpts and it would be a customizers dream. I would buy a bunch to update my series 1 figures (US, German, & Nam).
