Dragon, Tiger Ace & Glory
Dragon, Tiger Ace & Glory
I apologize if this has already been discussed, but this is the first time I've seen this item. It looks like the whittman tiger tank and I assume its 1:72 scale. Anyone else seen this? Is this a new release?
Definitely not the same as the first Wittmann 'white-wash' tank (no. 60001) - I am looking at mine as we speak and it is very well done and the figures are actually quite impressive. The poses/stances with Wittmann extending his arms around his fellow crew members is a nice touch. I wish the ground had some texture to it, but the tank is nicely done.
I did notice one thing - at least I think I did.
Quite possible that the 'Ace and Glory' replica has one thing in common with the Wittmann 60001 Tiger - there is no metal pin above the wheels which is now used to 'force' the track down somewhat to give that more authentic, heavier, metail appearance on the tracks.
Just an observation.

I would certainly have expected, with the popularity of the Wittmann Tank (no. 60001), this piece would had a lot of chatter for its release. I never heard any mention of it and I see it now on ebay, promoted as a sold out hard to find exclusive. I did buy one although I'm not really into 1:72. This certainly looks like a nice collectors item.
I can understand the frustration about only finding out about the release.
Unfortunately, I am not sure how to respond - when the item was released on CyberHobby, many individuals seemed to be excited about the release of the item and the addition of the figures, and I for one, was involved in numerous conversations about the item. However, some of that anticipation disappears following the realiztaion that the item will not appear from CyberHobby for quite some time - and the majority of more recent discussions involved 'why hasn't the product showed up yet. If you have received yours already - I am sure you are immpressed - if not, you probably will be when it arrives.
Regards.

Hey SMH, when did you get your "Ace & Glory" Tigers?
I still haven't gotten a shipping notice. Has anyone else ordered them and not yet received them?
The major differences b/w the 60001 Wittmann Tiger and the "Ace & Glory" Tiger are the Gray undercoat on the 60001 and the Dunkelgelb undercoat on the Ace & Glory - both have the whitewash.
Also, the "Ace & Glory" has the red lettering.

Not to worry - I haven't received any shipments from orders that have been placed - I simply obtained a few from another individula that I know.
I do know one individual in Wisconsin that has received a shipment - I know that I had to have been one of the earlier orders placed, and still have not received the items.

When Cyber-Hobby ships...they ship everything. I'll have rec'd the Wittmann Kursk Tiger, "101" Tiger, and the "Ace & Glory" all in the month of April. Only had to wait 4 months.

Tiger Ace and Glory
One of mine was numbered 734 on the plastic card.
I thought these limited editions had a maximim run of 500
All my other cyber hobbies are under 500, anyone know what the production run is?

There have only been a couple releases rumored to have been less than 500: the Wittmann "007" Cintheaux (60119), Otto Carius (60120), and Tiger "505" (60121). The new "101" Tiger (60148) sold out in a day, I imagine it too was limited to less than 500 copies.
I'm not sure about the Wittmann Kursk Tiger. Mine are numbered 34, 35, and 36. It took about a week or two to sellout.
The "Ace & Glory" Tiger was up for sale for almost a month, so its likely to have had a larger run.
The rest of the CH releases were 999 or less. I've never seen a Cyber Hobby release numbered above 1000. Does anyone out there have one over 1000?
