well pic til I get some more batteries. Finally un-boxed her.

Detail is great, although the tracks I am not sure what they are..they are not 1 piece like the Tiger II tracks, NOR are they metal like the Tamiya Masterwork pieces..I think they are magic tracks used this time.

Like the Elefant this one has no working hatches. Saddly this feature is disappearing since the Tiger I came out, the Tiger II has the Loader's/Commander's loose so you can open or close them, but the peg on the commander's hatch is very delicate.

Wow, this thing looks great! I am not familiar with DML; is this a prebuilt Dragon RC tank?

pre-built 1/35 static model DML = Dragon(or more Dragon Models Limited)

The Panzer crew is Can.do and the two grenadiere are DML's Ukraine 1943 Infantrie, I started those two Sunday, and I have two more from the set, including one with a Hafthohlladung(Magnetic Anti-Tank Mine/weapon seen in the movie Stalingrad)

btw, this thing was the reason for the whole Zimmerit craze with the germans IMO.

little more useful against a tank though IMO..although if loud enough you might be able to scare off a tank with a bullhorn

Or blow exhaust back into the tank with an air horn, and deafen the tankers as well.

nice, I had to look up the history to the battalion/Abteilung being in France, cause as far as western front action of Großdeutschland was the Führer Begliet Brigade(Heer/Army Fuhrer escort brigade as opposed to Waffen SS units) in the later stages of the Wacht am Rhine.

On the Tiger I and Tiger II all four are yes.

My copy of this particular DML Panther allows you to open the commander's hatch, but no others. The commander's hatch cover has a very short post that will not allow it to stay attached to the tank in the open position. To fix this, I took a small drill bit and drilled out the plugged well where the shaft on the hatch cover should go. I then super glued a shaft to the underside of the hatch cover and inserted it into the drilled out hole. I can now have the hatch in the open position.

eh, tried this, took it off the printer where she watches over the desk, and popped off the turret..looked inside, and I didn't see a post for the hatch, but I saw where it should be(encased in part of the turret itself) so I stuck my pinkie in the turret and pressed against the hatch from the inside, and it came open a bit...don't have a figure to put in it here, so I just snapped it closed again.

but good call on the hatch, the Tiger II has a exposed peg with a stopper at the end you can push up to raise and swing the hatch, and the loaders hatch is just loose, and you can position it open or closed or semi-open..like the commander's hatch on the Masterwork PzKpfw. IV H

I've always felt that the Panther was the best looking of all WW2 tanks.
