More Bone Yard Specials 1:16 tanks...

Post by krieglok » Sat Mar 22, 2008 4:35 pm

I was looking for some guns and noticed they have more junker tanks at Kapowee. It looks like a grab bag thing now...

Ditto... I would have probably got one of the grey Tigers for a custom paint project I have in mind, but no way I'm gonna take a chance on them sending me an Abrams instead.

Went ahead and ordered one. Called them on the phone, told me you could ask for a certain tank in the memo section but no guarantee you will get it so i feel like i am playing the lottery

Yep, ordered one last week. Got a Panther delivered a couple of days ago.. Heng Long should be ashamed to call that abomination a Panther. Going to be in Houston next week, so I'm going by their store and see if they will swap it for a Tiger. You pays your money and you takes your chances.

The people who run the place seem to have a poor customer service outlook sometimes. I actually started taking my big money business to another airsoft dealer because of their poor attitude.

As far as the tanks go, some enterprising person should buy them all and sell hand picked tanks for twice the price. It was good while it lasted I guess...

Well I didn't win the lottery on this. Wasn't a Tiger. Was a Pershing looks like but.......they just put the tank in a box with some packing peanuts in a too large a box the thing is destroyed for the most part
Gun barrel is shattered into many pieces found them in the box upper deck is separated from lower deck ,fenders cracked, gun mantel broken in two misc detail parts broken off and found in the box. only thing in the box was the tank and remote no antenna nor batteries dang what a mess.

I live in Houston and wanted to buy one of their M4 carbines, so I emailed them asking who the manufacturer was. I got no reply, so I bought an M4 from someone else.

I just rec'd my "mystery box" yesterday. I opened it and I first saw what appered to be a Tiger. It was. Then I noticed what looked like one of those mini r/c helos. It was entangled in the Tiger's antenae. then I noticed that the Tiger was missing some road wheels, muzzle was all smashed, and it was missing a track. But wait , there's more.. At the bottom of the box, underneath the peanuts, was the top half of another Tiger w/ turret, two (2) radio control units. Basically we got 15.00 worth of scrap plastic. Someone probably took a snow shovel and put a scoopful in each box. I'll figure out what to do with it. A little kitbashing can go a long way.

You have to be very careful to search the very bottom of their boxes before you discard them. Have to take out every last peanut and search under the bottom box flaps to look for tiny pieces that have fallen off whatever they put in the box. I guess they are figureing us for suckers. When they first started with the damaged tanks, you got 5 for $30. Now you only get one for $15. The first 5 that I got weren't perfect, but were in very good condition. 21st is not the only ones jacking up the price.

Believe me I checked every where to find all the broken pieces in the box. Called them today told them while I expected the tank not to work, I at least expected it to arrive in one piece  She said they had another one and would send it out. Plus she would put in the memo to pack it well  Seems like that should be a given. Also told me to hold on to it in case they make a claim against UPS *good luck they don't pay out for bad packing*
After looking at the pershing i do like the tanks and may buy some of them, not like 21st is putting anything out
