Custom Tendor Terror P-51

Post by gustav » Fri Mar 07, 2008 6:19 am

I wonder how long before this custom TT P-51 will eventually be offered and resold as an authentic Tendor Terror?

Hopefully I'm wrong, but be advised that there is at least one repaint out there!

Gustav,
Your right this could be trouble. The anti glare panel looks black . Should it be OD ? If so this is a way to tell the fake from the original.

It may very well. But, one thing it won't come with, at least till it gets faked too is the letter of authenticity from 21st and certificate...

He may not even know of the 21c Special Edition version, but then again...

Your right . The price so far seems to be a little high for this version but I guess anything different is hot now.

Something looks odd with the nose art...like it's a sticker.

But I doubt the seller is trying to fool people. There's no hint of him trying to deceive people that's this is some LE plane that came from the manufacturer.

And his opening price of $85 is pretty reasonable. Not cheap, but certainly not mind-boggling either.

I guess he's just another fellow enthusiast who saw TT and thought, "That's a cool nose art".

:)

This seller seems to be pretty up-front about it being a custom that he made and not an original. So I don't see a problem.

That said- If anyone ever comes across an auction or goes into a private sale, and you are told that it is the real thing, make sure that all the proper documentation comes along with it. This will include the letter of Authenticity and Certificate as VMF214 pointed out all ready. These are hand signed by Roy, the 21C VP and myself. In addition, each airplane and certificate are registered and logged by 21C. So at the moment unless any have traded hands and the new owners have not notified to 21C, each owner is known and accounted for.
If you do get your hands on buying one off somebody, record the sellers name and contact me personally so that I can verify and update the registry to note you as the new owner.

21C and myself want to keep careful track of these things out of respect to those who own them. People worked hard to get them and they deserve to have that investment protected IMO.

Anyone have a real one for sale? -Just curious.

I posed the question on the board shortly after signing on, only to find out that I didn't read the BST instructions. I don't think there were any responses from current owners. 3 1/2 months from now I will be checking again. I would very much like to find one that the current owner is willing to part with. Potential sellers, keep that in mind.
