FOV Tiger repaint - tri color

Actually, it's not a total repaint, just added green with paint pens

But it is my first try to do one, so they should get better on the next 5 Tigers

Here are the pic.s, then I have a question.

Now a close-up of the crew. Sorry, the focus wasn't any better

Now these guys are multi brand breeds. First the gunner is an early 21st C tank commander with FOV head and a Dragon cap. The commander is a Dragon body with FOV head and a modified 21st C commanders hat.

I didn't get to the wheels yet because I need a better photo to get a good idea on how to paint the wheels, but will do so when I have better referance

Now here's my question to those who've modified the FOV tiggers,
"How should I mount the top turret MG

I have lots of FOV MGs, but no mounts. Will I have to kitbash or scatch build something like the ones that mounted on the rail around the commander's hatch, or was there a different way to mount the MG ??? Thanks, Da General

Very Very Nice!! The only thing I suggest, I think it would look even better if you dirtied it up a bit. But thats just my opinion

General, that looks wonderful! I saw those paint pens and dismissed them thinking they would be of little use. I guess you have changed my opinion.

It reminds me a little of the paint scheme on the 1/32 Porsche KT; not the scheme but the "in-your-face" colors.

Yes, I plan to "Dirty" it up a bit

I think I'll used some different shaved charcoals, they even come in rust shades. It does look a bit too new

Also, I want to change out the numbers too. I plan to add some details as well. The paint pens I used were "Elmers" brand, strange huh. Don't know if I'll crack open the lower hatches, but am thinking about hinging them

Nice job, looks very good. Not sure if you plan to do any more camo painting on the wheels, or weathering etc., but when you're completely done with all your painting you might want to consider a light overspray of Testors Dullcote or a similar clear flat finish to kill some of that semi gloss sheen that is present on the FOV Tiger. If you do this, test out a small section on the underside before you spray the whole vehicle, just to be sure whatever you are using is compatible with the various paints you used, and you are satisfied with the look.

Flat finish is a MUST as the final coat.
I haven't got much a chance to work on anything all week(about) being my father is in town. I am however just playin' around customizing my latest German clone/Frankenstien creation, Fenstermacher the Fearless Leader

LOL... Yeah, for anyone who might be interested the old Hogan's Heroes TV series is out on DVD, I have a couple of the seasons (1 & 2 ) the show is sort of corny, and was really never my kind of shtick, but it is mildly entertaining and good for a chuckle. For those that care about such things, the DVD re-mastering on these is well done, the video and audio quality is excellent.
