1:16 Tigers and Pershings cheap

Post by krieglok » Fri Feb 15, 2008 2:50 pm

I found this while looking through an airsoft site. They are the 1:16 scale Tigers and Pershings. I imagine they can be gutted for static models or possibly repaired for rc use...

Just got the 3 Tigers and 3 M26's they had for $30 plus $12 shipping. Oh man, what a haul. Who cares if they run or not. Those are fantastic tanks with great detail. Thats a very detailed 1/16 tank for $5. Am I doing the happy dance or what! :D :)

It might pay to call them if you plan on placing an order. I dont know how many they had and if they keep their stock up to date on the web site or not. I have a Pershing that I gutted, detailed and painted so I really couldnt use them. I hope everyone who trys, gets some...

At least I live close enought that I can drive down to Houston and get my money back if they don't refund it pretty quick. I'm guessing that the ones they had shown are all they had.

The new Matorro 1/16 RC KT tank is getting horrible reviews. Likely you see these in the junk box as well.

I wonder when they get in on Monday what they are going to think when they have 10 orders for these tanks when they only have 1 set of tanks?

I order a lot of airsoft stuff from them. I am sure if they are sold out, they wil refund the money fairly quickly. Another suggestion is to check out some other airsoft dealers as they often have these tanks for sale. I bet they would have busted ones for cheap if you inquired.

Did this pan out for anyone? I was wondering how many people tried to order the same inventory and were shut out.

They must be still cleaning out their pants! Items still posted on website and I have not recieved a return call (left message) or an email yet! No activity on my paypal payment yet either.
These guys just had an abrupt end to their three day weekend! Or maybe they took longer and that is why I haven't seen anything!

If you use paypal with them, you would not hear from them until the item is almost at your door. If you pay with a CC, they usually have a order confirmation out asap and the tracking follows soon there after. For what they probably pay for these tanks, they could afford to send good ones out for the same price.

I ordered an airsoft grenade launcher on Saturday and it is due here Thursday. That one I used a CC for...

OK, Just checked my Email, and had a notice of UPS shipment and tracking number of a 15 lb. package from "www.kapowwe.com."
Lets see if they have anymore that they ship out!
Post if you get any response from them!

The thing that stinks about these great tanks is that you can get one for less than $25 in working order on ebay, but shipping is a minimum $45 with no exceptions. Find a dealer that will ship it at actual cost of around $15 and they want $65 to $80 for the tank.

An unusual thing about those Heng Long tanks is that the Tiger is pretty accurate, but their Panther tank is a disaster. Hard to see how they got one so good and the other so bad.

Speaking of the Panther, I bought a kit to convert one to a Jagdpather. Metal Panther tracks and road wheels on the way too. Not real accurate out of the box, but it can be made much better.

Because the Hen Long Tiger is just a bastardized bootlegged version of the Tamiya Tiger I.

And their "Panther" is just another crappy bootleg that uses the Tiger I chassis, instead of *gasp* actually making a Panther of their own.

This is getting pretty strange. I ordered all six tanks they said they had. My card was charged yesterday and I got a UPS tracking number today in an email. Doesn't say what was shipped but my card was charged for all six. Its going to be interesting to see how many actually show up since other people have been charged and gotten shipping notices also.

I got a credit back on my Paypal of the single broken Tiger today! But nothing more on the broken Tiger and Pershing lot! I noticed they removed them from their site!
I wish I had seen the look on their face Tuesday morning when someone checked their online orders!

UPS delivered this morning. The photo that was on the site showed 3 M26's and 2 Tigers. Here is what was in the box that was delivered: 2 Korea era M41A3's, 2 M26's, and 1 Tiger. The Tiger was in perfect condition and it alone was worth the price paid for all 5 although I sure would have liked to have had that other Tiger shown in the photo. Anyone who has seen one of the Tigers in person would probably kill to get one for 5 bucks. Out of the other 4, two had a hatch cover missing and some odds and ends missing (battle damage of course). Nothing that couldn't be replaced if I wanted them perfect. As I said in an earlier post, the detail on these beauties is excellant and even though they are 1/16 scale, the 21st figures look great with them. Doing the happy dance all over again. :D Somebody did get that other Tiger that was for sale by itself. Maybe it was one our members.

Well UPS finally delivered the Tanks in a huge box with plastic peanuts coming out of the seems! What I got was worth the price of the show! Got two R/C 1/16 Tiger I tanks. One came complete in the box, the other was loose and has damaged track wheels w/remote hand control. One R/C 1/16 U.S. M41A3 Walker Bull Dog Tank complete in the box. Also came with two boxed 1/24 R/C Type 90 Battle Tanks that look complete also!
I don't know if anything works as batteries need to be charged.
TJ thanks for the heads up on these!

After checking the 1/24 Tanks, one appears to be a M1A2 Abrams NATO Battle Tank and the other is a German Leopard II by Hen Long and they seem to operate correctly and fire plastic BBs.

D*******mn. Two Tigers. Thats the only reason I ordered was to get the two Tigers shown and only one of mine was a Tiger. That tank that is being sold as a Panther is definitely funky looking. Sure as heck looks nothing like a Panther. But you got to Tigers for $5 each so who cares. Take a look at what you were charged for shipping. I bet it wasn't over $15. Like you, I got 5 tanks in one huge box. My shipping was $15. Never sold on ebay, do you pay them charges on your selling price only or on shipping charges also? Is that the reason dealers are selling these at $23 and charging $49 for shipping for just one?
