YOU can fit a type VIIC U-boat 1/18 in a box that you can sell at large box retailers. It will still be a large box.
Think of how the 21st me-262 and the F-86 wings go together, and apply that to port and starboard hull sections of a u-boat. Of course you will need some supports to attach the hull sections too. Basically you would have to assemble the parts as long as they are weathered and pre-painted done right, it would look nice and you could hid the seams with the wield joints, SOME ASSBLY REQUIRED

As for displaying you could have a series of wall mounts and mount it on the studs on your and display it that way.

Captain Wild Bill Kelso: My what?
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Your guns! Ack, ack, ack, ack, ack!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: [fires his airplane's guns] AHHHH!

I found this on the web, now if it could be made in 1/18th and with a lot more deatil.
If this thing had any more detail it would be out stalking supply convoys in the Atlantic.

Heck, why stop there. We should also wish for a 1/18 Nimitz-class carrier. I mean...we already have the F/A-18 in 1/18th scale....

Why not a HMS Frigate.
http://cgi.ebay.com/James-Bond-007-Tomo ... m153.l1262
65' long, cheap at $27,500 and with a history of having been used in a James Bond flick.
Now this is a yard ornament.

Be the first on your block to have one.

I tried but the Commodore said...."Forgettaboutit"
