Hi there, I've just registered as I've been looking for some close up pictures of the 21st Century Corsair and/or Stuka.

I've bought one of each on ebay as they've just become available in the UK through a tie in with Corgi, but they haven't turned up yet and I'm desperate to get a sneak preview as all the pictures I've seen so far haven't been very good.

Can anybody link me to some nice pictures or post some in here?

Andyroo - welcome. You will be very pleased with these two birds I'm sure. The best pictures I can think of online are actually the stock 21st photos that BadCat has up - you can enlarge them to full screen and really make out some of the detail. Also each photo is really 3 shots in a composite so you can get a few different angles.

Thanks. Just found them and they are a lot better than what I'd seen (standard ebay size picture). I ordered them on the strength of a Spitfire I'd seen in the flesh in a shop which impressed me no end. Hopefully they might turn up tomorrow.

Watch the corsair wing hinges, they have a tendancy to snap. Otherwise they are two very nice models/toys.

Hmmm.....I can foresee a few problems as I'm probably gonna have to store them unassembled and reassemble them when I want to play with them.

I'll go and read the Tips and Tricks in full now I think.

Yep.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't expect the Corgi's to show in force there. I saw them at the RAF Museum and at the Snetterton race course hobby shop. They are also carried (if they are still there) in Norwich as well. They go for 50 quid so they ain't cheap. When I was in the UK in September, the bbi F-18 was seen at Snetterton as well.....

From what I was told, Corgi is under new leadership, and they aren't too hot on XD. So, if you see them there, you might what to get them.....

Where in the UK are you??

There's a co-incidence Teamski! I thought I'd better update my info after you asked me if I was in the UK!

What shop in Norwich was it you saw them in? I saw the Spitfire in Langleys Toys in the city centre. Like you say though the retail prices in the shops are a little silly, I got my two on ebay for £30 (Stuka) and £20 (Corsair) plus £10 insured postage for the pair, which I think is a real bargain! The Stuka was even a 'buy it now' item! I'm not sure I'd pay the £50-60 retail and the guy I got mine from seems to be getting more than I paid for his auctions already.

That's exactly where it was, Langley's. I guess you just can't win with the VAT and import tariffs....... Great city Norwich. When I was stationed in the UK for 7 years at Mildenhall, I had to make sure that new Yanks pronounced Norwich properly (nor-ich not Norwich). That would avoid some embrassment for them anyways. Oh and talking in a lower tone. Cheers!

I often find myself in Mildenhall delivering things to the industrial estate near the airbase, had a delivery into RAF Coltishall the other day too.

You have to enjoy the place names of Norfolk in general. Wymondham!

You could even have got them to go the whole hog and told them to pronounce it 'Naarij' like in a Norfolk accent.

Ahhh well.... It's hard enough to get a yank to pronounce Leisestershire correctly (Leistersheer)!

I know exactly which industrial estate you are talking about! I rented a couple cars from a used car dealership there....... Funny!

It's sad that RAF Coltishall will be closing soon. Seeing those Jaguars on approach was really cool.........
