Help finding a truck part?

Post by FieroDude » Sat Jan 26, 2008 10:51 am

Hey guys, I know we have a few gearheads in the crew, and I am hoping one of you might be able to track down a part for my '94 Isuzu that is outrageously expensive to buy new, and apparently very hit or miss through e-bay. I am willing to take a gamble on a used part if I can get it for a reasonable price, but none of the local scrap yards have one (note to self: next time, buy a vehicle with a higher production volume than 2000-3000 per year).

The part I am looking for is a Mass Air Flow Sensor, to fit a 1994 (or comparable, I think 92-96 used the same part) 2.6 liter Isuzu 4-cylinder. Mine is off an Amigo, but the 2.6 l. 4-cyl. Rodeo and Hombre use the same part for those years.
The one I pulled out of my truck is made by Hitachi and has the following two part numbers shown:
8 97016 6260
AFH70-07 (I think this is the number used by most cross-references--it showed up in AutoZone's computer.

ANy help would be appreciated--I will happily pay a finder's fee on top of the part and shipping costs--I can by Paypal or whatever is most convenient. I also have a MIB Atlantic Avenger I can offer up for trade.

Thanks!

I'll keep an eye out for you Fierodude. I hit the junkyards quite a bit to find parts for the 442.

Much appreciated, Mark! I also suspect that there are more to be found in southern states than up here in the great white north. Something about driving around with the top down just doesn't work so well when it's 5 degrees out!

Fierodude,

Try these guys at West Somerset Wrecking in Kentucky. The number is 1 (800) 345-0460. Price is $35.00 +shipping. Part grade is A and he has two of them. Ask for Greg. By the way, I thought you might like to know that same part fits the following:

1993-94 Amigo 1993-95 Pup
1993-94 Rodeo 1993-94 Passport

Hope this helps.

No problem. I was sick today and didn't really feel like working on my own car.
