Post by SuRrEaLNJ » Sun Mar 27, 2005 11:30 am

Does anyone know wher i can get some 1:18 stars and bars decals? Ive done decals on the computers, but i dont trust myself making the large insignias i need for my custom Mustang. If anyone has or knows where i can get from please let me know

Jay I'm wondering the sam thing. There was a website that did decals in 1/18th scale. They had decals for Big Beautful Doll, Lucybell and those are just to name a few but I havent seen the sight for some time. I wish I could help but 1/18th decals and the people who make em are hard to find.

Maybe Vexillarius is the manufacturer you are looking for, they have some stuff here

I'm interested as well since I am going to need to repaint my Laura Michelle once I replace the tailwing from BBD that SurrealNJ is sending me.
Also Spudkopf (a board member from Australia) told me a while back that he produces decals which are available commercially, maybe he can provide us with info?

Ask John at John's Stuff:

http://www.johns-stuff.com/

I know he makes 1/6 decals and he's making some O scale train decals for me now. If he doesn't have any on his site email him and tell him what you're looking for and for a price quote.

Try Lair at 4evr4us@earthlink.net. I believe he does the "historically correct" decals available through BadCat.

He did some custom star n' bars and numbering for a 21C Corsair I'm working on.

He did a great job for me, although I haven't got them on my repainted late-war Corsair yet. The decals look great and are right to the specifications I requested. On his own, he provided extra white backgrounds to give me full opacity of the white over dark blue. I found him very informal and flexible, a pleasure to communicate with.

Regards,
JimBob :)

Spud,
I haven't got them yet (John siad he was still tweaking), but I can't wait until they arrive. Thanks for your input!!! Between 1/6, 1/18, and 1/48 I don't have a lot of room left for anything else

What.......

No 1/144th, 1/87th, 1/32nd or 1/35th, I think your letting the side down, so you better pick up your game

The decals should not be that far off, as I did some minor tweaking over the weekend to correct a text bleading issue.

John has also had a hard drive crash (lucky no art work was lost) and at last contact was 70% back up.
