That is awesome! My only question is why announce a new release when the Dauntless has languished for what now, over a year? I wish Mike was still answering on the forum so we could get some answers... :?

Think how cool complementary paint schemes for these two naval planes would be! There is a part of me that almost wants to buy the 1/18 Avenger and Corsair in the Bunker Hill paint schemes for this very reason. 8)

Wow.. Not that excited!!
I would have liked a Hellcat more, but I guess we take what we can get, although I'd just like to see the Dauntless...

Wow, thats just dandy, now just where the hell is my Dauntless???

The Wildcat is great and all but why not the Hellcat which was a war winning aircraft that shot down more planes than any other US Navy aircraft in the Pacific.

Also, the Wildcat has a super fragile landing gear arrangement, how is this going to be handled so it doesn't break right out of the box?

Close - it is on the bbi website in detail

BBI seems to be doing AC in 1:32 that have not been done in 1/18.

The F4 has removable gears instead of retractable. This should solve that problem.

Well, that stinks about not doing AC in 1:32 that they did in 1:18. They assume I guesss that most of us collect both scales? Hopefully 21st will grab the Hellcat. I am really looking forward to the Dauntless, I'm happy to see it is still on track. Also, after posting about the Wildcat's gear I thought about the optional up/down pieces on many 1:72 aircraft. That would work well and to tell the truth I'd really like to see it handled that way for all 1:32 aircraft. You can make much more realistic looking and sized landing gear and wheels/tires if you don't have to worry about getting them to retract.
