POLL: Your current 1/18 Interest Level?

Post by nomo4me » Tue Mar 22, 2005 10:25 pm

I'll guage the above by asking which of your 1/18 aquisitions would you sell if you could get your full investment out of them with no shipping hassle?

My picks to unload would include:

2 ea. AVG P40's
RAF P40
1 extra NKK Spit
Jabo P47
Checkertail P47
Winter Stuka
DDay P-38

I gifted my BBD P51 to a neighbor kid, who really lit up when I handed it to him.
I'm eagerly awaiting the S2 109G and a Gabreski Bubbletop, and will probably grab an Avenger even though I'm indifferent to PTO stuff.

But I don't see myself buying multiples again, even if I found them at clearance.

Well I couldn't part with any of my collection. But with 48 planes I can assure you I don't have any room for duplicates!
So I can see your logic in removing extras in that case.
I'll have to post a picture I took last week of my collection... I put all 48 planes I own out on my driveway all at once just to see what it looked like. I thought it was great but I think I had some neighbors wondering about my sanity!

My P-51 "Big Beautiful Doll" would be gone in a heartbeat. It's just not up to par with the rest of XD. And if I had paid over $100 for the 109 Nightfighter, like I've seen other fools do on eBay, rather than the normal retail price (thank you, Mr. McClain), I'd want that $100 back. It's cool, but not that cool. Oh, and "Eileen;" a plane that looks like it was painted by me.

What's wrong with the RAF P-40? I think it looks great.

I will probably divest a couple of 1/18 helos, once I can find them in the basement, but right now I'm more planning to divest 1/6 stuff to make more room for 1/18...

The RAF P40 is a beauty, but I already have one hanging on the wall.

I would probably unload my XD Tiger and BOB Sherman, to make room for the Bf-109G S2 or S3, if we ever see them..

Any clues there TKO211??????

Well, if I was not getting rid of all of them I would Keep the Stuka, 109 and Spitfire, and the P-47, the others just don't seem to be so nice to me.

If I needed to sell something I would let my aircraft go first. My Armour would be the last thing I sold off.

Probably the 2 helos that I have. I've stopped collecting the aircraft and now just concentrate on the land vehicles although I still have a few planes parked in the hangar. :D

I sell off pieces from time to time, as I lose enthusiasm for some of them and make room for new items. Certain pieces I know I'll be hangiing onto, though, such as my treasured series 1 Corsair, Stuka, Tiger, half track, and all of the Viet Nam pieces. They've stood the test of time!

Right now I'm selling off the bbi LAV, which has turned out to be a rather dull item (needs more opening hatches!).

I can't................ do...it......... I.... Have...... to.... Obey........
Seriously, I just don't have anyplace for my 1/18 armor.. I bought them thinking I would, but now I don't.. I am more of a "plane" guy anyways..
Like Tinman, I get bored or trade off stuff to get something I desire more.. No biggie though, I will still buy more 1/18 aircraft..

I'd drop probably every plane I have if I thought I'd get my investment or better back on them, only because they're SO big they take up too much space... I like tanks/ground vehicles and figures better, and sadly tanks/ground vehicles and figures just aren't numerous enough...

My interest is there, but it mostly holds out for what BBI's offering in the coming weeks hopefully.

thats why I purchase multiples, so that at a later date if need be, I can sell off pieces to help finance recent releases and still be able to maintain a complete collection. I have found myself recently slipping more and more into the smaller scale stuff, ie: 1/32 FOV and 1/72 Dragon pieces...it's getting harder and harder though with ever tom dick and harry releasing "Exclusive" pieces, actually..let me rephrase that..it's getting insanely harder...I need help!! you think Betty Ford would take me? :?

My extra Bradley. I've been able to offload everything else I had surplus of except that. I haven't been able to justify taking a loss on that.

Now, if we're talking Star Wars figures, thats another story. :? Just counted the other night, and I have 10 big plastic bins of carded figures. Ouch.
