Custom 32x Corsair, help needed.

I have a duplicate Big Hog, and it never really bothered me, but I got this Osprey book on Corsair aces, and there are several F4Us that are extremely similar.

Found One I want to do. Just need to do some more of the white lines on the cowling, and take off the big hog on the tail, change the number, and add some kill flags.

Vex decals will do the flags. For the numbers, I don't know what I'll do. Any advice?

The cowling lines I think I'll just tape off and use enamel paint. To cover the big hog, I need to match the paint... which will be hard... =/

I was also thinking of TOTALLY repainting it, and making a F2U Goodyear Corsair racer, although different body style, I like the paint and think it would be cool.

Any advice on taking it apart, stripping the paint, and painting without an airbrush?

Well, the Goodyear plane is go! It's got a similar body style.
