Service for Donovan Gatewood Sr., 78, of Sunset was to be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11 at Coker Funeral Home Chapel. Charles Colett was to officiate. Burial was to follow at Sunset Cemetery.
Gatewood died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, in Fort Worth.
Born May 8, 1924, in Kansas City, Kan., he was a retired electrical/avionics technician for Aerospatile Helicopter. He married Alice McRee in Houston on June 26, 1950. He was a veteran of World War II in the Army Air Corp. and a member of the VFW Post #8789 in Bowie.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Donovan Gatewood Jr. of Sunset and Jon A. Gatewood and Gregory Lee Gatewood, both of Fort Worth; one daughter, Nola Ann Gatewood Summerhill of Fort Worth; one sister, Mary Jo Kreie of West Fork, Ark.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were to be Terry, Shawn. Aaron Summerhill, Tracy Gatewood, Travis Reese and Jason Gatewood.

all those faces are familier, alright, they are the crew and namesake of the Memphis Belle, as noted on the nose. They match the photos of the crew on my painting by "whats his name" the one with the Belle over France and Fw190s out the wazoo and the pictures down each side. I bought this from Ben Drew at a local gun show here in Atlanta 10-12 years ago
