Just a little something I was messing with (+New Pics 1/7)

Post by tosborne3 » Fri Jan 04, 2008 7:17 pm

Hey fellas, this is just something I was messing with. I repainted one of my officers with a quick head swap as well. Tell me what you think. I did a side by side comparison for the pic.

Now all he needs is a monocle! ;)

Have you considered using some dull coat on the cloth areas of the uniform?

What kind of paint do you use for figures? I'd like to do some tiny details on mine, since I've got such awesome brushes, but I don't know if I use acryllics or enamels... One of the things I want to do is paint my new Wehrmacht Infantry figures lame camo helmets the dull gray. I love the gray helmets and another thing I also need to paint is my other soldier's helmets, I think one of them has double decals on the helmet, which for late war, should be none, because most were field removed. The double decal was early war, the single eagle was mid-late, but often removed in the field to better aid in hiding the helmet. I love the gray helmets and any other helmet color for Germans is heresy. Except Ottos. :)

Always use acryllics on your XD because enamel will eat em up like little green french fries. Ussually I get my paint from Hobby town, but theres many different brands to choose from.

Oh yes the Monocle, I might give em a eye patch. Acually the paint is rather dull, the flash gave him his spiffy sheen, but I was thinking about putting a dull coat over him anyway. I guess it depends on how lazy I feel when I get to work on em again. :)

Not my first. I've actually done quite a few customs. Nothing major or big but I'll try to post some of the other pics of them soon. :D
