Convert, a handy device

Post by Ruger » Mon Dec 31, 2007 7:58 pm

I thought I'd post this, as I've found it to be a great tool, both in modeling, and general purpose. It's simple conversion calculator that allows you to convert all sorts of different things. Simple measurements, speed, tempuratures, power, time, and so forth.

One of the best parts is that there is a "Custom" feature that allows you to set up your own conversion charts. I use it to convert back and forth from "Real" inches, feet, and millimeters to "Scale" measurements. In my case it's all 1:32, but you can create your own. The software is free, downloadable, and I've used it at home for a year or so, and at work for several years without ever a problem. You can find it here:

Once you have it, you'll find all sorts of uses for it. For instance, did you know that the fastest I've ever driven was Mach .162? But this wasn't in my current vehicle, as with only 33,870 calories per seconds worth of power from my 223 Tablespoon V-6, I'd have a hard time even getting to 87 knots...
