1/48 P-51B Bald Eagle

Post by vmf214 » Mon Dec 31, 2007 7:34 am

Don't know if anyone has posted or not but picked up a 1/48 P-51B Bald Eagle at TRU yesterday. Didn't know this one was coming out.

:?

Can anyone think of a compelling reason 21C would copy repaints from 1/32 to 1/48? To me that seems to be a foolish move. The Mustang must have more cool paint variants than any other AC and they do a copy?

All I can think is that they could scale down the paint masks.

Yeah, not sure why they picked this one to do. I would have preferred Ding Hoa or something like that.

Nope, Bald Eagle is a new one for 1/48. The other P-51B/C was the all green one.

Found both of these in Michigan today. What I want, though is the second version of the 1/48 P-40!

These were here and gone last Spring (two P-51s, silver and green and two Me-109s the K-4 and a G-10). I have never seen the 1/48 P-40. It has never shown up around here (Eastern NC). What kind of nutty distribution system do they have? Ten months between them showing up in different parts of the country....

The current P-51B Bald Eagle and 109K yellow 1 are repaints just released.

Closest the P-40's got to my AO was 100 miles away.

Still a few P-40E Aleutian and P-40N hanging around here. None of the new P-51s or Bf 109s

I just saw 1:48 P-51C Bald Eagle and BF-109K at TRU.
The Bald Eagle is the same as the 1:32 with the exception of the Malcom Hood.

I almost picked them up, but I'm already committed to collecting 1:32.

I saw 'em at both WM and TRU. Two paintjobs for the 109K at Wal-Mart, and the P-51B and the 109K at TRU.

I saw the Aleutian Tigers P-40E at WM. I wish they would make a 1:32 P-40E or later, especially with that scheme.

We haven't had a 1/48 at our WMs in >12 months, I thought 21stC had stopped making them.

Does my AO get the new D model mustangs or Marders or PZ38T's? No, but we get 1:48 planes out the wazoo!

Rowsdower, I agree. They're okay, but they need to be stocking the P-51Ds and the Fw-190Fs! :( But hey at least it's new stuff, so we know they're semi-current...

We're going to be stuck with Black 3 109Es and Berlin Expresses for months before we get the 190s and P-51s... :( Of course I got those two planes, but still.

It's the 32x P-40s that are still sucking up shelf space at most WalMarts in my AO. :x :x

:( I wish... there was a place I could skate to and get planes... I'd be in heaven. The only place I know of has 1:18, he said he's getting 1:32 but that's about a 20 minute drive... :( Sucks.
