Yes, you better believe this guy is gonna get negative feedback!
I will wait to the last possible time (anyone know if it is 30 or 31 days from day of purchase?) and nail him but good. But like Aferg said before, give the facts only and make it clear to other possible buyers what he is doing.
Sad fact with this guy is this is the first time he has sold (at least from feedback he has only purchase items not sold) on Ebay. If he would only had cooperated a little. But his only purpose was to make back his 30 bucks he paid for these figures. I think he bought these from a board member: Robertr74 on Ebay.

Yeah, it's not a criticism of you really Razor, that I'm making... More just a word of advice that I think taking a negative's a highly (uh, hmmm) "negative" thing I guess... God I need a Thesaurus.
I know you're a trustworthy person of course... Mistakes happen, I understand all that so I didn't want you to think I was criticizing you. I just think taking a negative really isn't worth it... Is it gonna stop him? I'd say 99% unlikely... Everyone on Ebay does it anymore with no repurcussions, and I can't see him yielding on this. Plus he could very well get your negative nullified/removed if he wanted to go through the effort, and at the same time still slam you with a negative that Ebay won't remove... Just seems like a risk to me.
Is the guy a dillhole? Yes. Without a doubt I think... Is he "at fault"? Well, I don't think so really... Jagoff though he may be. In the end Ebay's gonna say you negated your responsibility I think.
It's like an accident I had a few years back... I pulled out of a sidestreet in Pittsburgh. 25mph speedlimit on the street I pulled onto, and it was a blind pull-out because it's a busy street with cars parked all along it. I saw the guy's headlights, he was some distance off when I started pulling out and he came up on me fast and nailed the left rear quarterpanel of my car... He BENT the entire trunk of my car on the opposite side. He pushed his engine back almost through his firewall totalling his car, he RIPPED my bumper off of my car's steel bumper mounts.
The police field-tested me for sobriety, but let him go because his "witness" who oddly enough was riding beside him in the other lane at an equally fast speed said I just pulled out right in front of them...
I got slapped with a fine because, no matter what, my pulling out of a side street negated all my argument that A) he was in an area at 2 a.m. where there were just as many bars so he too should've been field tested, B) he obviously was doing a hell of a lot more than 25mph because 25 isn't gonna rip a bumper's steel mounts off a car's frame, and C) I wholely believe his "witness" was a friend he was racing with in the 2nd lane.
But I got the traffic fine, even though the cops and his insurance claims guy that looked at my car even said he was definitely doing WELL faster than he should've... Not fair, but thems the breaks.
I just hope your negative if you're leaving one, doesn't get pulled should he try fighting it. It'd suck totally to NOT get any dig in on him but to still take a hit from a guy like that.

If I couldn't get my neg pulled nobody can. Just state the facts and they can't pull it. I had a fake tracking # the woman emailed me, proof that I paid for insurance and that she DIDN't insure the package, and an email from her stating she mailed it a certain day when in fact it wasn't mailed till weeks later. She stated that I was "unpleasant to deal with", which I'll admit I was. I'm unpleasant when I get jerked around. Ebay didn't care cause they got their money out of the deal. That's all they're worried about.

That's my point though... While I agree Razor's getting jerked around on this shipping thing, it's not an uncommon practice, and it's NOT going to be disallowed by Ebay. Unless (and this is a gamble) they'd agree it's "unfair" by their definition... Which I would not count on.Just state the facts and they can't pull it.
The sad facts are that he's got the communication where Razor's basically said that he didn't get in contact to get a shipping/handling charge and wanted to "alter the deal" he agreed to by placing a bid. The guy could easily get a negative left for him removed by simply supplying Ebay with their correspondence (if he saved it, which I know I do and I don't do much on Ebay so I'd wager he has any too).
Like I said, it's something that could really bite Razor in the ass with no real damage to the seller... And it could wind up with absolutely NO damage to him if he does get the negative against him pulled because it wasn't "fair" in his eyes.
Is he a big pile of douche? Doubtless, but he's unfortunately got an upper-hand too if it comes to debate. Sucks bigtime though.

I sell on ebay alot, And i dont charge for shipping, I always ship UPS Ground that way there is a signature when the customer recievs it. Honest sellers have to protect them selvs also, Not only that, but I can keep track of the package where its at during shipment. Also i state on my auction that I ship ups ground but I dont give a flat rate because its difeerent rates for different zones. Also the customer can type in thier zip code and get the rate based on the weight of the package. But no i do not add extra to freight. Im trying to get my busines going and I like repeat customers.

I have only sold items a few times on ebay. First, I set a minimum bid on the item, nothing that was outrageous, but something to ensure that at least I got some profit [for example, when selling an XD playset I got for $5, I set the starting bid at $10]. I then calculated approximately what the shipping for the item would be, so as not to undercharge my self or overcharge the buyer [first class shipping for the same item came out to around $10]. Thats the basic method I used and it seemed to be fair.

Just an update on this:
The seller sent my 3 figures to me and the charge on the box was: 5.05
He charged me 15.95
After he sent me the figures, he gave me positive feedback.
I left negative feedback for him: Charged 15.95 handling charge and shipping only cost 5.05 Beware of this Seller"
I looked at all his feedback after I left it for him and he another negative feedback exactly like mine.
Hopefully other buyers will be forewarned not to buy from this guy and have to be extorted to purchase his crap and pay his outrageous shipping/handing fee. Thanks for all of those that threw in their 2 cents.
BTW:Anyone interested in 3 Modern XD figures with NO HANDLING FEES?

Shipping Charges
Hi Jesse,
Dont take this the wrong way but you were both right and wrong in this matter. As a regular seller on eBay (www.themotorpool.bigstep.com) we list the domestic charges to ship the item in question to anywhere with the continental US. We cant possibly list every other nation/destination in the body of the text, so we indicate -- within the listing -- that international orders are based upon USPS charges.
What I'm driving at is that if the seller didnt list a shipping fee up front, you should've sent him/her a note first asking what it would cost to ship the item(s), not after the auction ended. I cant tell you how many people from outside the US bid on our items then balk at the shipping charges after the auction endes, knowing full well we cant ship them the item at the cost listed in the auction. We regularly get people from all over the world thinking we can ship them a mammoth 1:48 scale Franklin Mint B-17 for $25 US! Talk about cons on both sides of the ledger!
As someone else pointed out, we may make out a dollar or two here and there, and likewise lose a dollar or two on some auctions when we learn the actual shipping charge once the parcel is at the Post Office. If we were to bring every box to the Post Office first to get an actual quote instead of an approximated cost, thats all we would be doing all day! If just not feasible as your business picks up steam.
Anyway, you live and learn from each experience. Next time, find out how much shipping is before the auction ends...

Re: Shipping Charges
Uh, you got the wrong guy I think.lightning2000 wrote:Hi Jesse,

I'd disagree that there's an analogy between Razor's being screwed on shipping (Though I do agree it was his responsibility to email, and he's said as much as well) by being made pay $15+ when the actual shipping was obviously MUCH less at $5+, and likening that situation to not being able to quote shipping internationally then giving overseas folks stickershock when you do quote actual numbers.
Razor's being legitimately screwed by someone who overcharged shipping by 3 times its actual cost while an overseas buyer being told that actual shipping from the U.S. is gonna cost him is just the god's honest truth... One's an attempt to make money, quite plainly, off the buyer while the other situation isn't going to make the seller any money since it literally is costing a ton to ship overseas, so the analogy is flawed...
Though I do agree on the emailing bit... That goes without saying.
