"Cold steel" range : disappearance?
Since the Sherman Dozer and the King Tiger with Porsche turret , the 21C tanks are again in plastic... why?

21c must have nevertheless felt they had to cut the funds somewhere, despite what the competition does. You'll notice that most of the new 32x vehicles don't come with crew figures, either, while even the FOV Action grade vehicles have at least one with accessories. It sure is a difference from the old days, when the 21c tanks came with 3 figures!

Metal or plastic it really doesn't matter to me as long as the model is good. If FOV switched to plastic but kept their present level of detail and I wouldn't care, especially if they lowered the price. I built kits for years and they were all plastic and I have quite a few $12 plastic aircraft from MRC that blow away some of my more expensive Corgi planes detail wise. Now 21st which is already a lower priced and less detailed line than FOV omitting figures is something that does bother me. What do they cost them to make, about 5 cents each?
People say it's all about the weight or heft of the model, but how many times do you actually pick the thing up? Do you play with it out in the sandbox? If you need it to be heavy then take the turret off and glue some fishing weights inside the body. I think some people just have a die cast fetish!

I prefered the cold steel myself, but there was a lot of talk on different forums about the difficulty collectors were having working with it vs. the old plastic when doing modifications and kitbashing. Perhaps 21C was just listening, giving us what they thought we wanted and saving a few bucks in the process.

Who really cares??? Plastic (imho) is just as good! I agree with the figures thing. My 21st TRU firefly had a two figure crew, but at $20.00 Thats $5 for two???
Also bought a TRU FOV stug! At $25.00 with the crew of two and two tank riders and the accesories FOV has 21st beat! Hopefully FOV will continue the action grade through TRU at $25.00. If they continue to include figures and accesories these would be the better deal by far and 21st wouldnt be much in my eyes in comparrison, I think FOV could easily take the collector market with this price structure etc.
21st should pay attention before they are left behind!
If 21st is not going to include crew figures they should at the very least sell them seperatly. I think 21st needs to wake up on this issue however. Like their 88. No crew for this gun? While its a nice model with out gun crew its only half done.
