21st Century Toys 1:18 Marine Photo Contest

Post by Razor17019 » Wed Mar 16, 2005 6:57 pm

I just got an email from 21st saying in a nice way, I didn't win the photo contest. They gave me a link to see the winners, but nothing was on their site about the winners.
Anyone else receive any email from 21st Century on this??

I sent in several photographs, so I'm not sure which one the ultimately chose, but I guess we will know in a few days. As Razor17019 noticed, when I clicked on the link, it just took me to the Area 21 page where there was nothing new.

Can't get back onto the page that describes the prizes - what was second place supposed to recieve?

I sent in several pictures - and I'm not sure which one they chose - but when I find out, I'll post it on the site! I could post all the ones I sent, but don't want to appear to be gloating...

Ha.......some cool stuff there. I see some contributions from board members. I don't think the pic that one first place was the best one but hey, who am i?

Must have been tough judging, there was some creative stuff there.

Of course i could have blown eveyone away if i'd entered. If only i had a digital camera....

If you look in the back in the sky of the first place picture there are to Zeros dropping in for a run on those Marines. I think he was trying to give 21st C a hint, lol.

Cool things they did with the figures, but we should have had the Japanese to go along with the Marines.

OH MY! Some of those are very funny if you look at them.

I like the Marine holding the line of German prisoners at bay with his flamethrower... incase they move, he will incinerate them.

I also like the Marine who sprayed down the German Comander and he bled purple magic-marker all over a 2x4.

Also: In some of the pics at the bottom... there is a mortar... does this look like 1:18 to you guys or is it smaller? if it is 1:18, where did someone get a 1:18 wwii mortar from?

Great photos everyone. I am curious to see all of the entries. I wish they would post all of them so each person could decide for themselves which ones they liked the best. Let's see if there are more contests in the future. It was fun.

Glad to see the photos they put up! It looks like some boardmembers made the honorable mention as well. I like the fact that 21c posted pictures of all the entries. Very fair on their part! All in all, a great showing for the members of GPXD!

macvsog,
The mortar pics are mine. It is a motar from the current BBI figures. I cut off some pieces on the tube with a dremel. It should be 1:18 scale. I loved getting my hands dirty and doing these pics. I wish 21st Century would have more contests like these.
Notice how few of entries they had, unless some were not good to put up on the board.

Boomboomjr- I still like your flame pics.
There is someone else who looks like they used a firecracker for effect.

Tman-your black and white pics are really nice. It fits with the WWII period.

Congrads to all of us for creating fun out of our hobby...
We should have a contest like this on our board here.
Anybody game?

I don't think that 21st did post all the entries. They did say that the amount of entries was enormous and what they have shown could not possibly be all the entries. Hope they decide to show all of them some time.
