P-39Q 44-2911 Recovery

Post by Spudkopf » Wed Nov 07, 2007 1:48 pm

Not sure if this link has been posted before, but I strayed upon this remarkable Russian P-38Q wreck recovery/history the other day and I thought I would share it here. Apart from pictures of the actual recovered aircraft there are also some excellent profiles of the aircraft from throughout its service life.

I also heard the pilot was still inside. At least now he will get a proper burial. Very cool pics though.
