Question about the Fw-190D-9's

Post by compfire » Tue Mar 08, 2005 10:17 pm

I have 3 different versions of the Fw-190D-9's (S1, S2, & S4). I just got the S4 version and I noticed some problems with the different versions.

The S4 has a small black ring on the bottom of the plane.

Both my S1 & S2 ver. are missing it. Are they all supposed to have it?

Also the think the graphics are messed up on the bottom right wing of the same plane.

Finally, after finding theses problems, I was looking on the 21c website, and noticed that none of my FW-190's have anything sticking out of the far right front wing, as illustrated on 21c's site.

Any help would be appreciated.

All normal, check the reference section for tips. Teamski's post has the info on the black loop antenna that is on the control column on the other 190s.
The paint job is suppossed to represent a late war part taken from another plane and never repainted.
Your right none of the 190's have the pitot tube on the wing. Not sure why they left it off maybe somebody else can help with that one.

Bruzzer is right.. And the Pitot tube was on the prototype model and not seemn on any of the production pieces.. The reason for the funky paint on the lower wing is that this particular 190 is a VERY late model with the natural metal along the leading edges and repaired from other planes..
I have sen a pic of this plane after it was bulldozed on it's nose and the bottom looked just like it..

Got to hand it to 21st for going the extra mile to make this late-war plane look as it did with the reapirs and all. I'm satisfied with my S2 "White 1" FW-190, but the "Black 1" and "Blue 12" schemes also look great and have tempted me!

Thanks for the help. Sure enough both my V1 & V2 have the black loop antenna on the control column.
