I stopped off yesterday at the Shawnee Ks. WM looking for the new figure repaints. Didn't find them but was shocked to find the Platoon Leader and the German Artillery figures. One of each and the first time I have seen them in the KC metro area.

The problem with walmart in my AO, is when they sell out they have not restocked. Of the 5 in my area 1 has figures (S2 Tankers). You might find 1:144th tanks or some 1:48th armor and maybe a few 1:32nd model kits but thats it and its been like this since summer.

I found the last 18th plane today at a local WM. It was a tiger striped Mig15 way up high on a shelf. Couldn't pass it up since it was only $15.

Yep, my Walmarts are just about out of stuff. A couple tanker figures, 1:144 vehicles and some weapon sets are just about what;s left. Pretty sad.....

Does it seem to you guys that with your WMs that there is a "purge" of 21stC 1/18 stuff??

Some of my local WMs have NOTHING in 1/18.
But a few have a bunch, but the planes seem to all be on clearance for 25.00
Some places I go have no spot for 1/18 figures. Very strange.
WM distribution is so disjointed I can understand gluts of product here and there. But as a company they should either be promoting the 21st Century line or discontinuing it. But each store seems to be doing it's own thing on either end of the spectrum... :?

All I see stocked in 1/18 21st C at SOME WMs is just the the Figures, not planes, tanks, etc. I've seen a couple MGs and F104s on the clearance area, but no stocking. A few of the WMs here say they are completely getting out of 21st C, some say no restock til after Christmas on the figures. You try to figure it out :? :?: The General

i think it's pretty clear that WM has dumped 21c, at least 1/18. Six weeks to Christmas the toy shelves should be crammed, if they were still carrying the line.

The future of xd now resides with TRU.

Just last week somebody found new Germans, no? Were they mistakenly sent to WM instead of TRU?

they could have been sent to WM a long time ago and just filtered down to store level finally.

If WM is still carrying xd then where are the pak 40 repaints, pak 40 hanomags, quad .50 trailers, me 262's, vietnam figures etc etc.? It's six weeks til Christmas. This is THE time of year to sell toys, yet virtually nothing new in xd is to be found at WM, except a handful of german figures...

It's time we started facing the reality..

I'm ready for it  Less time I have to spend at a Wal Mart the better! Save for a couple severely discounted 1:18 planes, all the other new 21c products I'be bought recently came from TRU, just like in the old days 8)

TRU also seems to have the distribution thing down a little better. Some items still take a while to get out (no quad 50 trailers or Vietnam figures in my area yet) but the stuff does mostly seem to arrive eventually. That did not happen at Wal Mart. Further, it seems that TRU doesn't generally order 60+ of the same item, so the 21c products should sell better at full price, even if there are technically fewer of them.

I had received from a friend outside the forum, new Germans.
So far, he sent me new officers, new Ottos, but I thin(and hope) there will be new Fritzs, Hugos and new Artillary spotters, which I call Hans. We know there are new Americans being or have been made too :) But for now, they are just repaints, which is nice too 8) The General

Last night WM in Riverdale GA had their 1:18 planes down to $15.00. Picked up the pearl Harbor p-40's very glad I waited and very glad I didnt get the skycaptain one last year.
I have a feeling we will see more armor at WM shortly - some of the ones in the atlanta area that were dry for a period suddenly have 2 pegs of the D-Day figures (including ottos) I am ready for the 88 now. If I remember correctly it was only December that some WM's suddenly had tons of Avengers and pak 40s etc.

sure but I havnt seen any of these at TRU either - they are just finally putting tons of D-day figures and pak 40 hanomags on the aisle.

All WM cares about this early before Christmas are the bikes and listed hot toys of the year. Everything that was hot last year is sitting on the aisle in Bulk. Tickle me Ernie, Elmo, cookiemonster - i counted 30 of each last night. Second - I have not seen this much starwars in a non movie period in my life.

Id also say this time last year we were picking over the last of the japanese marines around Christmas tme - and right now the vehicles are not there but the figures sure are. But again I only have 30 WM's within one hour of my house ...

The WM's in my area (Northern, CA) are devoid of mostly all XD items cept for a few figures lying around. The planes were discounted months ago and they are now long gone. I have to agree with you folks that WM has pulled the plug on the XD items. Ever since the switch though, I have been able to find the quad trailers the repainted pak-40's and even the hellcats at TRU. I don't think I would've been that fortunate if WM were still carrying XD.

Still waiting for those darn trailers!!! The Pak-40s and a single Hellcat did indeed show up in my area, but no trailers as of yet. They're probably in the stockroom, waiting for the other stuff to clear

I have thought about getting some of the DAK figures

*** *** ***

Anyways, I did clear out some figures at a local Wal Mart so I will have a crew for quad-50 trailer that I purchased from BadCat (for the same price as TRU with the shipping included).

I also saw the new 1:6 Thompson sub-machinegun set, though that's been out at various Wal Marts and TRUs in my area for a few weeks. However, they also has a new 1:6 German MG-34 machinegun set with two guns, ammo belts and ammo cans. I haven't seen that before! I'm not much of a 1:6 collector and don't have any 1:6 German figures, but the set looked way too cool to pass up

Got two George Hamilton Germans at Wm the other night. Lots 'o Officers left, but I got the only 2 parade dress guys there. Pretty slick figures besides the tan. I plan to swap heads to DAK Germans... It at least makes slightly more sense that way. :(

yeah - those parrots are not moving either - but they keep building them up - pretty soon all the XD will be in the clearance aisle but we will not touch foot in there for the "hello...helloooo..Heeloooo....Hellooooo..helooooo. hello......helloo.......hellooooo. heeeeloooo.....hellooooo...meow.......helloooo...."
