Stab Color

Post by Folkwulfe » Thu Oct 25, 2007 5:38 pm

Not real sure, but the picture of the 21C model looks kind of like the stab upper surface is a dark green and not black. The B/W picture up above could be that green, but the B/W makes it hard to tell. Guess we'll all have to wait (darn it!?!)....I for one would like to have a couple of these babies!

It's great to see so much interest in the upcoming 21st Century ME262 nightfighter. This might be the model that just about every member of this forum gets. I can't wait to get mine. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I am supposed to get some new photos of a finished production sample on the Me-262 nightfighter real soon. I will try to get those up in an article right away on AREA-21. these should include some detial shots of the aircraft.

And yes, I also got a decal sheet from 21st that includes 4 styles of swastika to be applied aftermarket. One of the styles is the stencil style as shown in those historical photos.

In Depth Walkaround

Post by Folkwulfe » Mon Oct 29, 2007 6:30 pm

I recently did an F-86F-30 fighter/bomber in South African Air Force markings....and during research on those markings, I discovered that the SAAF museum has the most complete (and practically only original) surviving Me-262B-1A/U1 Nightfighter today. The black and white picture above of the tail shows that aircraft from several years ago. One of the IPMS SAAF people apparently found out I was interested in 110305 and sent me this link. It's full of very detailed color pictures of 110305 taken just a couple of months ago after refurbing her back to somewhat original specs. I thought I'd share the link for anyone interested...these are some great reference pictures for detailing and you may have to register (it's free) to go there....here ya go!!!
