wtb GI JOE AIRCRAFT CARRIER

Post by Aviatornut.com » Wed Oct 24, 2007 8:59 pm

I have a friend that is finally getting custody of his boy after a year and a half battle in court with his druggy ex. Well he wants to have in his room an 8ft long aircraft carrier with several navy planes on it. I can take care of the planes but I NEED TO FIND A GI JOE CARRIER

I have the Hasbro carrier but it sure ain't 8'. More like 3'. I originally wanted it to cut up and use it as a plane stand for the Bush Avenger. While I was waiting for that plane, my Grandcrumsnatcher found it and loves the way it drives around in my den with sirens and radars going like crazy.

I'm trying to get him interested in a 1/6 Humvee or FAV, but whenever he comes over he looks for that carrier. Whatever C4 wants, C4 can get from PopPop.

I think he means the rare 1985 USS Flag, which was a nearly 7ft long toy aircraft carrier (or at least the flight deck and island structure) made for the 3 3/4" GI Joe line. It is certainly underscale, but does dwarf the Skystriker plane when one is placed on the deck. I don't have one though I did once have a friend a long time ago who did...

ebay is probably your friend's best bet. I've seen them sell for relatively reasonable prices on there (as opposed to what online collectible shops want for it). Best to buy one soon, before the Christmas buying season drives prices up temporarily.

Underscale or not, packed with 1/32, 1/48, or 1/72 scale planes it would thrill any young lad.
i never met an airplane i didn't like...
