POST ALL FOV 1/18 FINDS AND DISCUSSION HERE!
oh for god's sake, they're making everything we've already got: abrams, sherman, tiger, bradley. Inevitable i guess and given the paucity of the shermans and now the tigers i guess it's a good move. Hopefully will pave the way for newer items. I bet the Tigers have zimmerit on them.

All I can say is wow!! That Bradley does look good, but I think the 21c version still has the edge on overall quality. Still, as the 21c Bradley is the earlier variant and the FOV one is the newer type, both will display well together and we don't really get a duplicate. It looks like the Tiger will lack an interior, though....
Still, this is a very interesting development in 1:18

i really think this means Target is the official home for store 1:18th Modern Military toys.
Blackhawks and Apaches for thirty frikin dollars, and now 20$ FOV 1:18th
scale stuff, im sure the M1 is gonna be around 30$... but still
who woulda thought Target would become the holy land of 1:18th Modern!

Yes, Target is looking very much like the official home for 1:18th military, TRU as well. Wal Mart seems to be getting smaller scaled-stuff and to be cutting back on the 1:18
On another note, having looked closer at Jolly Roger's pictures of the FOV Bradley & box, it really seems like FOV is simply up-scaling their 1:32 vehicles into 1:18. It seems the same vehicles in both scales have the same features - like the opening rear hatch, movable TOW launcher, opening top hatches and fixed driver's hatch on the Bradley (at least as far as I can tell from the pics). So, not quite up to par with 21c from what I can see.
The figures, however, look amazing

Could this mean that we could soon have an Abrams with more than 2 opening hatches? And it looks like there is a pretty decent selection of figures lined up to kick things off too... I will be watching. Don't necessarily need another Sherman or Tiger, but then again....
When I was told last Ocober that FOV was looking at getting into 1/18, I thought "cool!"--then when nothing appeared, I started thinking their rep was pulling my leg. Nice to see it was true--just a bit of a long-advance warning, although nothing compared to some we get

I can't believe that $20 is going to be the regular retail price for these 1/18 FOV's. Most likely an error at the store, perhaps confusing these new releases with the BBI armour that is going for so cheap there. There is no way Unimax can produce these new models in 1/18 with a retail of $20 and make a profit. That's less than they sell their 1/32 scale line for.
I wonder if we will see an 'enthusiast' grade for FOV 1/18? Perhaps with weathering and a figure, for more money, sold online and at hobby stores etc.
Another interesting point to note is that Target is against WWII items. They just want modern military, as related to us by Mike of BBI. FOV has gotten around this by marketing WWII vehicles in the same 'bravo' series modern packaging as the Bradley and Abrams. Very good....i guess they figure the buyer at Target won't know the difference...heheh.
Now, bring on the 1/18 Stug, T-34 and Matilda, FOV!

well
I doubt that's an error. You can see there are visible limits on the detail, and with no figure or extras it is quite possible fov (with great factory ties in China) could hit that PP in light of a HUGE order. To me though the figure thing could be an even better development. Can't wait to see how they're sold, at what price and whether you can bash them easy enough.

When I posted that ebay link to the FoV bradley I half expected to wake up this morning and hear that it was some oddball release from years ago..
Now this.. is amazing..
And armor doesn't sell.. muhahahaha..
Between BBI and FoV, whoever releases a 1:18 insurgent is going to make a killing..

i hope you're right about the price point digger; it would be amazing if it's the case.
BTW in all the excitement i forgot to thank Jolly Roger for the great recon and pics. Great job; it was nice not to be kept wondering for days as to what this new series was all about. *two thumbs up*

I am very pumped by this info. I will be heading to the local Target after I get done teaching the dears and darlings this afternoon.
Hopefully, we will start to see some more interesting topics after the first predictable wave is complete.

Yes, thanks Jolly.. At least I think so..
because now instead of pondering the auctions, we'll all be headed to targets and eating ravioli's to pay for it all.. lol
FoV certainly does seem to understand that variety trumps quantity so hopefully that will occur their 1:18 line..
Heck, if they just started upscaling what they've already done, we'll have a kubel, schwimwagen, stug, willys, t-34, matilda, wirbelwind, pershing, churchill, t-72, jagdpanther, grant, stuart, howitzer, duk, mlrs, zundapp and perhaps even a landing craft..
Can you tell I'm excited??

I did a quick look to see if there is anything else on target.com. No vehicles yet, but I did get some false hope when I saw the $14.99 figure sets, until I realized they are the 1/32 sets with the bases photoshopped out and the price jacked up $5.

Overall, I think it will help as long as they don't try to duplicate everything, or duplicate items for sheer purpose of trying to put someone else out of business.
And if FOV primarily sticks to armor and Admiral sticks to the aircraft, both sides win--especially since these two can create those pieces that 21st and bbi won't.

Well, its certainly true, I saw two abrams, two bradleys-one desert, 1 green/rust camo and a few humvees w/green/rust camo, also. The M1s were 29.95 and the bradleys were 19.95. I don't have much interest in current desert scheme vehicles (ya know, most of our vehicles will probably be in this color for the next fifty years or so).
