Doesn't say who actually made it but it is already at over $300 on ebay. I know some people have paid some ridiculous prices for things recently but thats really out there.

i guess this is it. I could whip something like that up in about 5 hours, for a cost of about $50 or less.

I think i should go into business.

Not to sound like i'm tooting my own horn but if that is going for $300 some of the customs i have made would go for a fortune.

mg42, for $300 i will make you one. Free shipping.

I think the helmet is supposed to have chicken wire on it, making it look a bit like the ridge of a french helmet.

I like the commet "rider modified to fit in sidecar". No legs? Auction should say - 1 1/2 figures........I guess if you actually got two complete figures, you would have to pay another $100.

The bike is not that bad...but the rider looks like a small child...and I suspect TTT is right, which would mean it is a gimpy child..

lots of inaccuracies on the bike, the most obvious of which is the big fender on the sidecar's wheel. You can buy those bikes for about $25 and repaint it yourself. They are available in the UK, not sure if you can get them over here yet or not. It's a civilian bmw/sidecar.

It's an NSU Max. Great bike and the closest we'll see to a real one until one of the big three push one out the door.

http://cgi.ebay.com/NSU-MAX-Motorbike-s ... dZViewItem

Here's one for sale. If you need more than one, just contact the seller. They've sent me at least six and generally only advertise one or two at a time on ebay.

There were also these two from Andrea Miniatures in 90mm.. Pricey but very well done..

additional info: those andreas are 1/20 scale and will be noticably small. They will probably not fit our xd figures. Also, they cost several hundred dollars and are kits that you have to build.

Aside from the NSU Max that Grunt showed, there are a bunch of Maisto Harley's with sidecars, that would be useful as custom fodder. I got one, can't remember which, but it looked reasonable for conversion. The sidecar was on the wrong side but i figure that will be fairly easy to move to the correct side.

I am amazed that nobody has made a german sidecar combo yet...i thought that was a natural. I even figured Maisto for one after they did their WWII Harley.

that's quite a bit nicer. I think he used the same NSU Max motorcyle as a base but cut down the sidecar's fender and made the cut out in the side of the sidecar by the passenger's leg.

Nice job. If the other went for over $300, this should go for more (but both prices are rediculous).

Cycle arrived

Post by General Blasto » Mon Oct 08, 2007 3:05 pm

The overpriced cycle as you say, has arrived :D
Let me tell you guys, this person that made it put alot of work into it. Both driver and rider are removable and the rider has all of his legs too !!! The only reason the price went so high is that I was in a bidding war. If I was a sniper, I could have paid alot less, but I remember how I felt when I was sniped  So I don't do that to others. Sometimes it does cost me, but I'm trying to be fair. Good guys finish last these days  Yet, I do have the bike now and nice it is too. THe riders helmet is a Dragon German helmet, not a French or Belgium one. The driver is also a dragon figure, yet the rider is 21st C. A nice addition to my army. Need one or two more and perhaps a single cycle or two. I could make these bike w/sidecar, but with my little time, I'm concentrating on Armour. I got the Firefly tank ready for the paint shop and starting a couple 2 or 3 M-24s, plus I got the wirblwind panzerflak waiting for the turret to be completed before a turret transplant - whew, that's alot of projects  And to add to it, as I'm getting the boot from the livingroom table, I'm cleaning out the storage area in the 1st spare bedroom and taking half of the room for a diorama shelf area across from where the better half has her craft area. Then the fun begins 8) The General
